Okay, these are getting meta. So insanely meta.
Liked:
1. Callahan. Father Callahan's back. I love him. He's on the run from the Low Men from Hearts in Atlantis, and antics ensue.
2. The plot. The book felt a bit like a side quest in a video game. I thoroughly enjoyed the group journeying to this town and helping them take down these weird cybernetically-enhanced wolves, who are snatching their children. It did feel a little bogged down in spots, but that's meant to be expected with a Stephen King book.
3. The Concept of the Todash. The Todash Space is something I haven't mentioned in any of my reviews, probably because it hasn't really come up. It's essentially just a weird rift in the multiverse that can be used to travel. Sounds familiar, doesn't it? I'm convinced the Rabbit Hole in 11/22/63 is in the Todash Space.
4. References to 'Salem's Lot. 'Salem's Lot is still my favorite Stephen King book. Callahan discussing everything that's happened, it's very clear that he's showing signs of PTSD from the things that have happened. It even confirms that he's gay!
Disliked:
1. The ending. The ending might be the most anti-climactic ending I've ever read in a Stephen King book. It goes on for like fifteen pages, and it's just insane at how break-neck it is. And then it just ends!
2. The citizens of Call Brynn Sturgis. The Townsfolk are just too annoying for me. They're mostly unlikeable characters and are useless.

4.5 stars!
I honestly am not sure how to give this a review without spoiling it, but here goes! I loved this. The Ka-tet is fully solidified in this one, and you see all of their personalities changed by these relationships with each other - whether that be funny jokes they now all share or secrets they must keep until the exact right time. The twists are nuts, the connections to King's other works are mind-boggling, and the next book is set up perfectly! I feel like it did lull in some places prior to the wolves, and there is one particular new character whose story could have honestly been its own book. But otherwise, I enjoyed it thoroughly and can't wait for the next installment!

This book was a disappointment. So many pages wasted on an alcoholic Catholic priest. So many pages wasted on the dramas of hicks no one cared about. But by far, the biggest insult was the ending. 800 pages of bullshit for a 3-page shoot-out which simply takes place, simply IS, with only two casualties and in such lame conditions. The "Bad Guys" were by far the most disappointing element. Robots built in the shape of Doctor Doom (Marvel comics), wielding light sabers and fucking Quidditch Snitches? "Wolves of the Calla", you can go fuck yourself. I give this lame manifestation of literature 2 stars because of the scenes with Susannah (which were by far the best) and because the premise had so so so much promise. Sad it could not deliver...

2016:FAST PACED!! Literally couldn't put this down! It is fantastic. Can't wait to delve into the final 2 books!

2020: I still love this book! I enjoy the action, the new characters, and how everything starts to be tied together as we approach the Dark Tower and the conclusion of this epic tale!!
