Four centuries old, covers aspects of a warrior's duty to his lord (written in a time of peace, but also reflecting back to times not much earlier of war / strife), but also duty in family, and general nobility of purpose.
Very bite-sized.

Don't read this unless you've already read The Book of Five Rings and the Art of War. For me, this book wasn't as much of an epiphany as both of those books were.

"No matter how eloquent and intelligent you may normally seem to be, if you lose composure on the brink of death and die in an unseemly manner, your previous good conduct will all be in vain, and you will be looked down upon by serious people. This is a very disgraceful thing”
Well, that's just extreme. The way of the samurai was essentially training men to be emotionless and robotic ninja-monks who had to follow a strict lifestyle to maintain a code of honour. To have walked the path of the warrior must have been a heavy burden.

I liked this one. It was a very accessible translation, and fun reading. I have lots highlighted for later reading.
