Shockingly not as good as when I first read it 10 years ago…

I’m not a fan of the way everything sort of just happens to make sense as the story progresses.
Oh, what is this mysterious hole? Don’t you even worry guys I just remembered that’s the griever hole - It’s how we get out of here, follow me :))

Where’s the working for it? Where’s the overcoming unfortunate circumstances? Where’s the emotional turmoil?

So they’ve been slaving away trying to figure out this maze for 2 years? Let me feel that!! There’s so much potential for gripping moments, but the kids are just so unfazed. No memory of anything? Blah. Trapped can never escape? Blah blah. And my oh my PLEASE just tell Thomas whats UP. poor guy.

Alas - the maze runner holds a special place in my heart. The story is exciting (even if the writing maybe isn’t) and it definitely had my kid brain pondering. But, I gotta say, next time I want a refresh… I will just be watching the movie.

Hm...taký koniec som nečakala, ale som zvedavá na ďalšie tri knihy...

I disliked the characters, the dialogue, and the plot. The characters are interchangeable. The dialogue is forced. The plot was all expository in the beginning, told in unsympathetic irritation/panic.

To be fair, I did not finish it and the premise had potential. I wish the story was told better.

Lord of the Flies meets Cube meets Ender's Game in The Most Dangerous Game. I'm not the audience for this dystopian trilogy.
