The penultimate book in the Hades X Persephone series and the war is starting to unfold. This book not only has Hades perspective, but also Dionysius and Thesus. While jarring at first, it made the story that much richer.
In both this book and the fifth one (Persephone's perspective of these events), the spice felt overdone. It was as often as five pages apart. And while both of the main characters know that sex doesn't solve problems caused by miscommunication, they constantly use it as a band-aid.
Overall, this installment was amazing and I am excited to see how the series ends.

It is taking all that is in me right now to not immediately jump into A Touch of Chaos. The cliffhanger at the end of this and A Touch of Malice is going to make it hard to sleep tonight (it is almost midnight). In this book we get a POV from a few different characters including Theseus (who the author did a fabulous job making him a hateable character imo). I loved that we got to see more of Dionysus and Ariadne in this one as well. Along with the other typical characters. I cannot wait to read A Touch of Chaos!

I really struggled with this one, not because it was bad (ruin 👀) but because it was so uninteresting. The majority of the booked felt like a word for word rehash of malice.

The portions of the book that were new, particularly Dionysus' POV, felt slightly out of place, though they were arguably the most enjoyable aspects of the book.

I spent the whole time trying to figure out who was who. Obviously this book is part of a series where stuff is explained. Very little plot. No conclusion to anything.

"A Game of Gods" by Scarlett St. Clair offers a captivating narrative through the perspectives of Theseus, Dionysus, and Hades, providing a unique lens on the world of New Greece and the plot that we have seen develop through the other 5 books. The incorporation of various Greek myths with a personalised twist adds depth to the storyline. I particularly appreciated the exploration of Hades' character development, delving into his experience of fear, an unexpected aspect for the God of the Dead. This series provides a fresh and engaging perspective on Greek mythology.
