This book is based on real stories and shares great efforts put in by the non-profit organization dedicated to exonerating innocent people. So the story theme is great.

As far as the writing is concerned, I did find that it is slow, distracting and in many instances boring. I think combining multiple non-related cases into one book made it a little distracting. Also, the storyline is mostly slow except for the final verdict.

Overall, I am happy that I finished it. It is based on real stories and shared injustice faced by real people.

Very strong storyline and it’s an enjoyable read!

That being said, the characters are all caricatures. Any emotional scene feels sterile and forced. I never felt what the characters felt. As a reader, I didn’t care about them and there was no effort to make me care. Probably won’t seek out another Grisham novel.

Read this so I could say I’ve read Grisham. It was an engaging read but I was tiring of it by the end.

I won't lie, I much prefer John Grisham's older work.

Hadn’t read a John Grisham book in a while when I was given this one as a gift. It made me remember why I used to read his books all the time. The plot moves quickly through time, the characters quickly become real and what is a complicated idea is easy to understand.

So good! I’ve always been a John Grisham fan since I read The Firm back in 1993. And this story doesn’t disappoint. I listened to the Audible version, and the narrator did an amazing job of telling the story in a way that pulled you in and kept you listening. He really brought this story to life.

My first time reading Grisham (though I've seen several of the movies) - I found it long on legal, short on thriller, and hard to connect with the main character. His goals were admirable, but his personality was off-putting and his methods ethically questionable.
