Talk about a GREAT little book! I loved this one from front to back & cannot wait to see what else happened in this little town!

I loved the dual POV, the characters, & the story of saving the town

Interesting background with diverse characters, but I kept putting it down.

This book wasn’t for me. I’m honestly not sure why I finished it.  I could see someone else enjoying it,  but to me it read as if you’d asked AI to write every Hallmark movie plot into a novel. It didn’t have charm or wit, it felt like it was just plodding along.

I did not like the main characters. The mmc was so aggressively mean at the beginning of the novel, it was a major red flag. His character development didn’t feel natural. The fmc had a martyr complex and I found all the secret keeping about the bills nonsensical, especially from her seemingly successful sister in NY.

This book has convinced me that I can read and enjoy romance novels. It was fast-paced, easy to read, and super sweet. It has the littlest hint of spice, but is mainly character-drama driven. Honestly this book was less about two characters falling in love, than the characters bettering themselves with the support and love given to them by their partner. And the third act conflict wasn't out of nowhere or due to some unrelated misunderstanding. Super cute, really good!

This is a super cute small town with some southern twists in NC. We get busybodies getting their noses in things, June is running her families inn, the highway moved so less tourist, upcoming festive, Clay is back from Afghanistan and going to open a bar in honor of this friend - Bug, we also have family drama, Clay and June trying to figure out life and how they fit into each other lives. We also get some steamy but close door-is.

Overall, I can't wait for more of this series!!
