4.5 out of 5 Stars: This one was intense and the themes and more descriptive of how the "epidemic" started It worries me that this may be a glimpse into our future world, if we're not careful.

The plot twists and action kept me gripped but there was some gory and gruesome backstory as well. This does remind me of why I stepped back from dystopia because it is scary of how close our world can get to it lately. There are some authors like Suzanne Young, can pull in and hold you to it and make you think of the themes and what we can hopefully do to change them before this happens. As good as these books are I am not buying the rest are the themes are just too heavy to reread. I will finish this series because I hate to feel I left it unread when the characters are showing and sharing so much.

So good! But super curious how there’s 4 more books in the series and how the next one will go!

This may in fact be one of the worst, most melodramatic, and least meaningful books I have ever attempted to read.

Not a long review, but just a short one to express my thoughts on the book.

First of all, thanks to Suzanne Young for deciding to keep this series with 2 books and not making it a 3 book series. I was slightly worried about that, and I have seen many writers do it.

This book is once again split up in 3 parts. Each part has a certain theme going through. The first one is mostly about them fleeing, running away and getting used to the whole life on a run and being wanted. The second is about the Cure and we also see a lot of other things happening in here with regards to that, but also to who you can trust. The last part focusses on the cure, but also on saving people, finding hope and fixing what is wrong.

The book also starts strong, you immediately jump in the story where we left it the last time. So that is really a big plus.

I didn't always like Sloane at times, she was just too jealous at times, too desperate, but at other times again, she was the awesome Sloane as we saw in the previous book. She went very far to save her friends, to make sure they are save. She does a whole lot to find hope and find a cure for the things that happen.

I loved the ending, it was really great, though I didn't like the certain event that happened to someone. I felt that was just unnecessary and not needed. Especially not at that point in the story.

All in all, I will be sure to buy this one when it comes out in paperback. :)

The first book was amazing. This was a great read. However, I thought it lacked excitement that the first book had. The concept revolving around the epidemic of suicide. The Program was invented as a way to cure people of killing themselves, and to do so their memories are wiped away.

I liked how the story kept building and worked out for the better in the end. Also, I loved that James and Sloane are a couple as well. The characters are awesome and interesting. I also thought that the new characters are interesting and add to the story as well. The ending made me happy and was the best ending for the book. Overall, an enjoyable dystopian.
