What a wonderful love story! This was my first full length M/M novel. I was impressed with both the quality of writing and the care taken in the content. This was a love story about people first and the fact that the people were both male was not relevant. You’ll enjoy the gruffness of Owen and how Cole coaxes him out of his safe comfort zone. Owen is good for Cole, helping him prioritize what’s really important in life. If you’ve never read M/M, don’t let that detail scare or intimidate you. This is a very well written, thoughtful, and sexy love story.

I highly recommend this love story between Owen and Cole. Owen, the grumpy lobsterman who has the biggest heart of us all. And Cole, the one who brings him chaos and light. I love Owen and Cole, they both are interesting characters with their own endearing quirks but Owen, god Owen, I love him down to the marrow. How sexy is a grumpy lobsterman with a heart of gold that so is pure. Gah. And Kate is such a greater writer, one of my favorites. Her writing is so smart and witty. And she adds amazing detail and accuracy to her stories.

Notes:
This was a decent, quick M/M romance. Story was predictable and it was overall not my favorite by Kate Canterbary.

This has been in my amazon wish list for a while and it's on KU so I thought I'd give it a try.
Billionaire hiding out with a lobster fisherman was a good jumping off point for me.
I liked them together and they had chemistry.
It was good but not great.

Owen: You don’t have to tell me anything!
Also Owen: how could you not tell me anything!

Duuuuuuuuude...

At least their super contrived „we will never work!“ moment was easily remedied and I did enjoy most of the story.

It took me a while to find the rhythm of the book i liked the story and the characters, however the writing is not my cup of tea, it would be a 3* if not for the "elderly beagle" and the "podcast/sleepwalking/dream" that really made me laugh out loud... the literal LOL deserves an whole star.

This was my last un-read Kate Canterbary and alas, it didn't hit quite right for me.

Issues in representation, and some questionable language RE a secondary character's vagina all made this not sit quite right, and the narrators weren't selling me either.
