This is my second Nora Roberts book and I love that again I didn’t know who did it until the end. The whole story is great and I loved seeing Cilla grow and strive to make a life for herself while bringing a piece of her grandmother back.

I found the romance between Ford and Cilla very believable because it developed gradually over the course of the book. Ford was a great character.

A good mystery that probably could have been a bit shorter. The characters were likable, Cilla in particular was intriguing and fun and I found myself rooting for her from the first page.

Ford was my nerd boyfriend dream guy. Seriously… comic books and PlayStation and an ugly dog who chased ghost cats? So fun.

That being said, this book felt a bit dragged out and I found myself wanting to rush through the last 150 pages. The big reveal at the end came as a shock to me (I can usually figure out the bad guy halfway through) so that was fun, but I wish it wouldn’t have happened in the final chapter, in the last 6 pages of the book.

If I have to hear one more time about how great the light (natural ie. the sun) is in this room or that room one more time....What are this farmhouses walls made of? Glass? And if you count meeting a man and a week later discussing dating and having sex with him as the most natural and will happen thing because that's the way things are in the world for every good looking guy and woman who meet do as the female MC does then that is not trying to resist anything to do with a male. Most of the book goes on and on about the restoration of the house it's almost like the plot about FMC's grandmother is an after thought. Plus dream sequences with said dead grandmother were just wired and unless FMC is getting messages from beyond the grave from granny most of their conversations don't make sense and all the dream sequences but the last don't really add anything to the little plot there is.

I loved it. I loved the twist at the end and how it all came together.

This was satisfying in that comfort food way. It was formulaic, but the way the mystery unraveled worked for me (even if the denouement was somewhat abrupt), and I really enjoyed the protagonists--especially the dog, Spock. (What can I say--I'm a sucker for a cute and quirky dog.) If you haven't read Nora Roberts before, I wouldn't recommend starting with Tribute, but if you're already a fan, you'll enjoy it.
