I just gobble up these Jack Reacher books. This one is interesting because, unusually, it is told in the first person voice and the story is woven through with flashbacks to an earlier, equal compelling prequel tale. As usual it’s a twisty story with unexpected plot developments, right from the start.

Reacher is in Boston when he sees a face in the crowd - a man whom he thought he'd killed some 10 years earlier. As a result of his enquiries Reacher is recruited by a Drug Enforcement Administration team when one of their own goes missing on an undercover mission.

This one has a high body count, even by Reacher's standards.

One of the better Reacher books so far, even if he comes off a bit like a psychopath. I wish main male characters having sex with random female characters in books wasn't a thing.

Wow! Fast paced even for a Jack Reacher story!  A roller coaster story of deception and wrongs righted.
Begins with an apparent kidnapping and rescue with Reacher killing a cop accidentally.  He gets taken in as a hired heavy by the, maybe, grateful father.
Then we find out what has really happened. Reacher is dedicated to sorting out someone who has reappeared from his past while also rescuing a damsel in distress and also taking down another bad man!
