A solid quick read. I read based on all the hype and although I don't think it was worth all the hype it got, it was all good (and made me tear up here and there). I love the concept and will plan on reading the next one.

The first chapter can be boring as it takes a while to set the tone of the book but after that, the remaining stories tie together nicely for the overall message of positivity. While there is a primary cast, the structure of the book allows for it to feel like more of a short story collection as we focus one person’s desires for each chapter. While the characterization isn’t very strong, it’s a pleasant and easygoing read.

From what was an intriguing and unique premise (a coffee shop where you can meet any of it previous visitors at any time) turned out to be a heartfelt and beautiful book.

Reading the book becomes quite obvious that it's a translated work. There's something about the stilted descriptions and dialogue that feel bare bones and lacking in, what I presume is the original author's prose. Though, this becomes quite easy to get used to as the book continues, and by the end, it is endearing. It leaves space for the characters and their plight to take centre stage, even without such floral language surrounding it.
This book is about love, loss, and family, and each new story brought a whole new cast of characters to care deeply for by the end.

This book follows multiple visitors to the coffee shop and their stories surrounding who they come to visit at the cafe. Each new story fleshes out the rules and limitations of the coffee shop. While it gives you new ideas into how this coffee shop would work in reality, it also manages to keep the core mystery surrounding how or why.
I think this is a great and easy read, and I would definitely recommend it. It manages to capture the right amount of depth and pacing for its 200 pages, never leaving you bored.
