Although I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the other 2 (this one had more intricate descriptions of battles and fighting, which I tend to somewhat gloss over), I still love the plot, characters, and David Gemmell’s writing. He has a way of drawing you in to the characters!

We've all heard of Troy, and the fall of what was depicted as a truly great city. I truly enjoyed this whole series and will read more by David Gemmell. Even though this was the last book he wrote (it was finished by his wife Stella Gemmell after his death. She must be a gifted writer on her own, because any transition between the two writers was seemless and unnoticeable), I'm looking forward to delving more deeply into the back catalog of David Gemmell.

I ate these books up. It took me only a few days to read all the books. The love story completely sucked me in and I kind of swoon every time <3

This was a bit of a letdown for me after reading the first two books. Granted, it was mostly written by David Gemmell's wife (using a draft he had started and notes for the plot), but it just didn't draw me in like the others. Sadly, the characters and story seemed quite bland in comparison - it felt like more of a telling than an emotional journey.

This will forever be my favourite trilogy. A beautiful interpretation of a classic story. Flawed and loveable heroes, wonderfully written ensemble, I read this ever couple of years.

What can I say? I have truly enjoyed every book in this trilogy and I'm sad to see it come to an end. Even sadder is that the author, David Gemmell, passed away while writing this book so I can only hope to read some of his earlier works. He was truly talented - he took the story of Troy, Odysseus, the relationship of Paris and Helen, the prophet Cassandra, and the famous Trojan horse and completely turned it into something new and exciting while still including all those traditional parts. This is a tale of heroism, honor, love, friendship, loss, life, death, and hope. I'm adding this to my favorite series shelf! I highly recommend this series.

This is the last David Gemmell Book. I was worried that his wife wouldn't be able to sustain the same writing style and that it would be painfully obvious where he left off and she took over. Stella Gemmell did a good job finishing her husbands work. I actually enjoyed the story. David Gemmell will be missed.

An excellent culmination of the trilogy. Some surprising allies emerge as the protagonists on the two sides confront each other for the final conflict. No spoilers!

Definitely better story than the movie version of the Troy story

A fantastic ending to what has been a thoroughly enjoyable trilogy. Yes, we all know that Troy falls to the Mykene army eventually. But what I loved about this book is that the actual final battle, though expected, was just a small piece of the story. There was also some great twists on the legends, including what the "Trojan Horse" is and how it caused the ruin of Troy. Action packed with memorable characters and an epic romance, I definitely recommend this series.
