Lucy Clarke does it again! She is an auto-buy author for me, having been addicted since I read The Castaways. I'm currently making my way through her back-list (only 2 to go).

This book immediately grabs me because I used to love hiking in my younger years. I can also count on the characters to be developed and flawed. And I loved all of them (even Joni).

The book starts out simple enough. A few friends gathering together for a hike and you just know s**t is going to go down at some point. The twists in this book are incredible. I didn't see them coming but, then again, I didn't try and guess what would happen. I just enjoyed the ride.

I definitely didn't see this book going where it did. But it was gripping and kept me awake at night. The writing is beyond beautiful. I can so easily see everything Lucy talks about in my mind. It's why I love her stories so much.

This may not be a bloody, twisted psychological thriller but it certainly packs and punch and will stay with me for a long time.

An easy fast-paced thriller. Nothing to write home about but enjoyable enough!

Fast paced, quick read that i found perfect to pick up between two longer books. This was my first Lucy Clarke book and I did enjoy it, it just didn’t blow me away.

The plot was really well thought out and the characters (although a little annoying) were perfect for the storyline. I just felt a bit meh by the end of it. While the start was intriguing, I felt the middle dragged and became a little repetitive and I think the drug outcome was a bit underwhelming and anticlimactic. I think murder between two friends and then the aftermath/cover up might have been a slightly better ending.

Overall I’m glad I picked it up and I would definitely recommend for a quick read, it just wouldn’t be at the top of my recommendations. It also won’t be my last Lucy Clarke and I’m hoping her other books live up to the hype a bit more for me

Fun read about a hike gone wrong, very wrong. Not very heady, but I loved the setting of the mountains in Norway.

This was an average book.

The good: easy, fast read, a few nice topics are explored like friendship, relationships etc., nice ending
The not so good: too much drama, it turned out into a soap opera with everyone's issues in their lives and with each other. The plot is pretty weak and predictable.
