There is a waitress who secretly becomes obsessed with the couple at table six and slowly dives her way into getting a conversation out of the couple and later finds out their whereabouts. The waitress named Hannah is simply living in a fantasy and creates false scenarios in her head that lead her to a dark place.

I came across this book blindly, which I have done lately but didn't feel like I would be as disappointed because the story started off so good and engaging. I was taken aback when the story started to sound far from real and my interest just plummeted. I should mention the book has so much potential because it a bit suspenseful but as much as I wanted to keep going, I was fighting a laugh because I found the story rather funny and did not give the thriller vibes I had expected.

Didn’t want to read a book about a woman forming an unhealthy attachment to a married couple (especially after reading ‘The Death of a Bookseller’ recently).

This is one of the last books by Hurst I haven’t read mainly due to the poor rating. After reading it, I can see that most people would be turned off by the outrageous plot. I, however, having an affection for Hurst’s books, was willing to let that go. BUT, once I got to the end, I realized I would have to give a low rating too. The final twist was so irritating! I guess I’m glad I read it as I’ll read all of his books, but this is definitely one of my least favorites by him.

Can't say I didn't see the ending coming. Listened on 1.5speed to just get to the end.
I don't think myself and Daniel Hurst will continuing our book relationship.
