Interesting because it's a perspective on a shared experience we don't often consider. Also interesting because of some of the background tantrums he stumbles off into. Not dated, and a quick read.

Fascinating, surprisingly quite clean, story! Great thoughts about how blindness affects people, but how all of us sighted people actually make it into a bigger deal than it could be. Slightly sobering to read, because I recognized some of the prejudice talked about here to be in my own life, too--OUCH.

The story is very well-written, intense, engaging. As a first-hand account of how 9/11 affected a blind man, a manager on the 78th floor of Tower 1 in the World Trade Center, it's a gripping testimony. I loved all the little stories connected to the story, and loved how his faith naturally wove its way into the middle of the tale. Great book.

Note: There were a few instances of language, especially surrounding the skyscraper falling--they will be noted in my full review on http://learningresourcedirectory.com

If you’re thinking this is another book about 9/11, stop it. It’s more than that. It’s about a person explaining to us what it’s like to go through life blind. And his wonderfully brave guide dog. This was a great book. Highly recommend.

This is a great book! It's so much more than an account of what happened to the author on 9/11, which in itself is worth reading about. Wow...

I really enjoyed this book. It was very eye opening to read about the past of the author and growing up blind and all the things that he did. While yes you would believe that the book is to be about how the guide dog guiding his owner out of the towers that fateful day, there is also so much more to it. I enjoyed learning about how guide dogs were picked and trained and found all of the things that Michael did growing up inspring so that he would not be just another blind person. It helped me to see that there are so many things that you can do in spite of a disability. I think it is amazing that he was able to survive the 9/11 attacks and shared his story with others. It was a great read.
