This was so much fun!
The characters, the world building, the drama - I ate it all up.

There are moments in one's life that remain permanently distilled in memory. Some wither within minutes, and others are carved forever into our souls.
I was absolutely captivated by this book. While it definitely gave vampire Hunger Games, it was so so so so so much more. The characters were complex and conflicted and oh so fascinating. This book had me gasping, yelling, laughing, and tearing up. AND OH GOD THE SLOW BURN. Truly a ride and I highly recommend.

I still LOVED IT!
Listen here, I’m still recovering from the EMOTIONAL TRAUMA this book gave me. The last 15% of this book did not happen, okay? We shall not talk about it.
What I Liked
I have a list. I liked the character was already damaged, the father had 1,000 conflicting emotions (Jekyll and Hyde sort of vibes), the getting to know the MMC was a pleasure, and the reveals were shocking. It made me tear up!! ALSO… I REPEAT THAT LAST PART IS NOT REAL!!!!!
What I Didn’t Like
There were some things that were plot convenient, such as the fact they can leave the Moon Palace. I get is to build more the Father and Daughter relationship, but it felt too convenient. I also wished that I could know more about the magic system.
I cannot tell you how much this book made me feel. I was frustrated, shocked, horrified, loved, and devastated. I recommend it!

There is a memory of a consenting sexual encounter that turns into an un wanted assault due to assaulter who is a vampire being over come with blood lust. It’s was handled well and not graphic but might be triggering for some. Future scenes deal well with the character who was assaulted and consent and everything. It was not hard to read in my opinion.
