I really enjoyed When You Dare!

I enjoyed it so much that while reading it on the bus to and from work I lost sense of time and I was sad to stop reading when I had to get off the bus.

I loved Dare and Molly's characters and I felt like there was a real connection between them.

The secondary characters really added to the plot and I especially liked Chris! Hope we'll get to read more about him in the next book. I couldn't stand Molly's dad- I hated him as a character when he was introduced in Natalie and Jet's story and he got on my nerves even more in this book.

I thought the balance between the romance and the suspense was just right- I don't mind reading romance suspense books as long as the main plot is about the hero and heroine relationship.

I can't wait to read Trace of Fever!

The focus in this book is really on the romance, even though it is billed as suspense. The reader never has any doubt that everything will turn out just fine, but as usual, Ms Foster writes characters that you just can't wait to reach their happily ever after.

Too much "blah blah blah." Sex on the brain. "blah blah blah" Guys who think and talk like women.
Then some action happens and the response is "Alani is in the house she could use some company" For reals? Unfortunately, I have 2 other books by this author to read. I'll probably end up chucking them without cracking one open. Lori Foster is just too mind numbing for me to read.

The crux of this story is about human trafficking, and the rescue of a group of females being held in Tijana. It picks up after the rescue when the hero, Dare, brought back two victims. One is his best friend's sister, who he originally went to save. The other woman is our heroine, Molly.
Molly believes that someone purposefully is responsible for her kidnapping and targeted her. Her father and stepmother are horrible people, and Molly is a famous romantic suspense writer who apparently has some very vocal and upset fans about one of her books. It could be any of these people.Dare doesn't want to leave Molly as he wants to keep her safe until they can figure out who is after her. Most of the book is spent trying to figure that out.
There wasn't a whole lot of action, but there were some tense moments where Molly was almost taken again in a parking lot. The ending had a lot happening in a short amount of pages, which included a fire, but they managed to safely bring down the bad guys.

First, HELLO COVER! Props to the cover model for this steamy first impression.

Second, this book deals with such a terrifying and heinous crime that I almost had to stop there once I realized what the main character was rescued from.

Third, I had high hopes for this one but was a little disappointed. I read this book in a little over a week simply because I was waiting for the action. Dare (also...his name is ridiculous) is supposed to be this super killer with amazing skills to get the job done. But really to me, he’s the most unrealistic part about this whole book. His Herculean description and build up was nearly pointless towards the end of all the action. Sure, they’re being followed. Sure, there are a few thugs posing a threat. But That. Was. It. The action scenes were too brief to really attest to Dare’s skill level and expertise. It almost felt like the author tried too hard to make him seem extraordinary as far as mercenaries go...but was incapable of truly delivering such a character to the reader or portraying that character accurately.

Fourth, I feel like the mystery aspect dragged on too long. The time between clues or plot-driving events was too drawn out with confusing filler material (e.g. their love story).

Lastly, I wanted to know more about Chris!!!

It has been a while since I have read a book by author Lori Foster. When I saw various reviews popping up about this series though, I got sucked back into her world of suspense and romance.

When Dare goes on a rescue mission to find his best friends sister, he comes across the beautiful Molly as well. At first he considers her a complication to the mission, but quickly discovers the beauty within Molly along with a mysterious cover-up. I loved Dare in this book. He was strong, sexy and independent. I loved his ferocious protectiveness of the people he cared about. I also loved his friendship with his assistant, Chris. Chris had the perfect balance of smarts, sexy and humor that this book needed.

Molly was not one of my favorite characters. I felt she was too needy and weak. While she tried to come across as a strong woman, she was always relying on others to lead the way. I wanted her to stand on her own two feet and learn to protect herself in certain parts of the books. She whined quite a bit which became annoying as well. I wanted her to get a spine and be as strong as Dare when needed.

Overall, while this wasn't my favorite book by this author, it was one that kept me interested enough to continue on with the series. I am looking forward to see how the other characters will evolve in the next books. Hopefully, we will get to see more of Chris as well and maybe even get his own book in the series!
