Schade. 20 Seiten mehr hätten nicht geschade!

I first discovered Paige Toon 14 years ago and fell fast for her writing styles. The first book is Lucy In The Sky, it is not however the first book of hers I ever read. But having read another I was eager to read everything I could which is what lead me to Lucy In The Sky.

I haven't read this book for a number of years and rereading it was like experiencing it again for the first time. I love that Lucy is flawed and that these flaws actually make her more likeable. That her clash of conscious makes her relatable. None of Paige Toons characters are ever stylized as perfect, they all have flaws and share experiences that make them realistic.

You always find yourself routing for the female lead because she's human. She makes mistakes, she laughs, she cries, she feels guilt and love unapologetically.

I found myself mistrusting James from the offset, I found him grossly narcissistic and the gaslighting of Lucy from the get go really solidified that throughout. I found myself half wanting things to work out for Lucy and James though because she's so likeable I wanted to be wrong and wanted so badly to route for that relationship even though other characters raised questions about James and his sincerity. Lucy ended up with the right person in the end

The other thing I love about Toons novels is that there's always a nod to other characters they all interlink and flow through the books.. You'll find characters you fell in love with popping up later in other books and it's always so nice to get closure almost and see where their story's ended up taking them

Habe das Buch nach 50 Seiten abgebrochen. Lucy ist so etwas von unsympathisch, arrogant, dumm, naiv und macht mehr fat-shaming als mir lieb war. Auch James klingt ziemlich nach falscher Schlange. Nein danke.

Genre : Chick-lit romance
Rating : ⭐⭐⭐

Settling down for a 24 hour flight to attend her best friend's wedding, the last thing Lucy anticipated was to receive a text about her boyfriend cheating on her. What follows is a painful, restless flight for an enraged and horrified Lucy, who is barely trying to keep her emotions in control with hundreds of strangers around her. ✨

I started this book with high hopes because of how interesting the synopsis was. While it started off really well and had me intrigued, I personally felt it went quite downhill
about halfway.

For me, a book is defined by its characters as much as by the synopsis. I wouldn't enjoy a book if the plot was great but the characters dull. Sadly, this fell short in that.

I despised the annoying, selfish, and hypocritical protagonist, whose entire plotline circulated around choosing between two men. That's all her character arc is made of.

Once again another great light read from Paige Toon. Perfect for fans of Lindsey Kelk specifically fans of I heart New York. I will say that a did feel that the second half of the book did feel a bit slow and took a while to get the next part of the plot going.

I am doing a reread of all of all Paige Toons books and this time in publication order. I enjoyed it as much as I remember enjoying it the first time - I was immediately brought back to reading this in my 'younger' years and all the feels.

I did notice that this time round (probably me being older!) I found Lucy to be rather annoying and many times I felt like she needed a good reality shake and it did take me a while to connect to her but by the end of the book I could not help but route for her.
Paige Toon writes books in a way that just feel very real and leaves you with all the cute and fuzzies and that is why I love them!

this book was really easy to read! I finished it within a week because of how easy it was written. I did read this book once many years ago and I remembered that I felt really grown up ready a story like this. in comparison with other books I have read it is not as great but the memories that come with it are very special to me :)
very cute and easy read!
