From start to finish this book had me hooked and I couldn't put it down. Holly and Kane are partners in a jewelry heist - they are undercover for the agency they work for. Kane and Holly have worked together before but they have different styles. Kane is a guy who likes to always follow the rules and goes by the book. Holly is more impulsive and goes with her instincts, which sometimes gets her in a little bit of trouble. When Holly and Kane have to pose as an engaged couple to get close to the necklace they need, they can't fight the attraction between them.

This book was so good! Everything about this book was perfect - there's suspense, action, sexy times and mystery. The romance was really hot. Kane and Holly together had amazing chemistry and sexual tension. I loved these two characters! I really loved this book and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a suspenseful romance!

Undercover With the Enemy begins when Holly Milano is being partnered with Kane MacMillan. The major problem with this is, Holly is more a risk taker. She's going to act before she thinks things through, and doesn't really follow orders very well. Kane, however, is the exact opposite. He follows orders to the "T" and hates that Holly doesn't ever stick to the plan. These two have never worked well together, and now they forced to pretend to be engaged. Neither one is really sure what is going to happen next or if they can even pull off this assignment. But they bound and determined to try!
The last thing they expected though was to have an attraction to each other, and that's exactly what starts to build once they start pretending...

This book was very interesting. It has suspense, an extremely strong heroine, and a really awesome hero. It was a nice contrast to see how different the hero and heroine were, and how they came together. The situations they had to go through created a strong bond between them, and at times were quite funny.

Over all this book was very interesting, and I liked!

Undercover with the Enemy by Sharron McClellan is a 2015 Entangled Publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

It was such a delight to meet Holly and Kane, an unusual pairing of people, who turn into an offbeat dynamic duo of sorts when they are commissioned by the High Risk Securities firm they work for to retrieve a necklace, which was part of a divorce settlement, from a couple who have ties to the mob.

A terrible gaffe puts Kane in a situation he is ill equipped to handle and things go from bad to worse, as the couple suffers one set back after another in the heist plan. On a more personal note, they seem unable to avoid acting upon the mutual attraction that has been simmering under the surface between them. But, each are carrying around a little baggage and having two operatives involved with one another may not be the best idea in the world...

I enjoyed this couple who epitomized the old adage about opposites attracting. Holly can't stand working with Kane because he is one of those uptight, 'by the book' types, with a major cob up his butt, and is what most of us would think of as an old stick in the mud.

Kane isn't all that crazy about working with Holly either, because she never does what he tells her to, she flies by the seat of her pants and improvises which could cost her her life one day if she isn't more careful, an attitude that drives Kane crazy and he makes sure she knows how he feels about it.

But, they are two professionals and they agree to put their differences aside and work as a team to get the job done, promising not to blow it. However, that proves to be easier said than done on a professional and personal level.

The chemistry between the couple is not immediate, and it took me awhile to warm up to Kane who ran cold one minute and hot the next.

But, I did love his moral code and the way he respected women and relationships even though he has been terribly hurt in the past. He could have racked up a slew of casual conquest, but it wasn't his style.

Holly liked to keep men at arm's length because of her background, which could be a little hard for some people to accept or cope with. Holly loathed the idea of introducing a guy to her family, so usually she didn't stay involved with anyone long enough for that to come up.

The action is non-stop from start to finish with one twist after another, keeping Kane and Holly on their toes. Occasionally, the situation they find themselves in are hilarious, sometimes very awkward, and sometimes very tense. Dealing with their developing feelings for each other is a huge complication on top of everything else. At times the pair were really great together at as team and at other times I wanted to cover my eyes because they were totally out of sync, especially Kane who is way out of his element.

But, at the end of the day, it all boils down to their different backgrounds and points of view and just as Holly predicted, Kane has a hard time with things, and will have to pull out all the stops to prove to Holly what he is made of. The ending is beyond charming. I love it when a guy steps out of his comfort zone to win his lady's heart and Kane really, really does that with a cherry on top.

This story is imaginative, and I loved the set up for a romantic suspense novel, that has lighter in tone, but isn't silly or way over the top. This is a caper/heist style novel with a few steamy moments, very fast paced, and was a fun, exciting read. 4 stars

Enemies-to-lovers AND an action-packed romantic suspense? Yes, please; and thank you!

I had such a good time reading Undercover with the Enemy! Kane and Holly were fantastic characters--a by-the-book operative and a acrobat thief who actually ran away from the circus to help people recover endangered goods--on paper, it looks like they'll never work out. And sure, in the very beginning of the book, they don't have a chance. But they wind up together on their next assignment, Holly makes a teensy little error in judgement, and next thing you know wham! they have to pretend to be in love or risk blowing their cover.

So. Much. Fun.

Of course they're ridiculously attracted to each other--and obviously, they each could benefit from qualities that the other has that they themselves are sorely lacking--but they're both going to resist the urge as long as they possibly can.

Which fortunately doesn't turn out to be very long at all. ;)

But pesky fate is going to keep throwing obstacles in their way, and then their operation turns into the poster child for Murphy's Law...

Seriously--they could not get a single break from start to finish! Just when you (and they!) thought it would be okay to relax--just a little, maybe grab a quick drink, check your email, whatever--bam! something new and disastrous was thrown at them. The best part is that none of it felt forced or at all deus ex machina-ey. (Okay, maybe that's not the best part. Holly and Kane together are pretty awesome. And the way he convinces her to give him a chance? Fantastic. But still, there's a lot to be said for a really well done action-adventure story, which this is.)

Holly's insistence that they could never work out because Kane would run screaming from her circus "family" without even giving him a chance or talking about it was pretty darn frustrating, though. For a woman who was so fearless in every other aspect of her life and never had a problem telling people how things were, it felt out of character and went on for far too long...hence the half star deduction.

Still, such a fun read! Did I mention it ends very, very well?

Now all we need is for Bravo to get his own book. Obviously the guy's got some major backstory going on, and just as clearly he needs to get his HEA...

Soon, please? ;)

I received an eARC of the book via Entangled through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Holly and Kane! The pretty much synonymous with the phrase "opposites attract" and they are pretty much hilarious together :D

Where Holly is impulsive, Kane has a proverbial stick up his ass and when they have to end up working together, their antagonism turns into something they both have been ignoring! And when you have mob bosses, a sneaky client and a family of circus comprising the secondary characters, you know you are in for a hell of a ride.

This book was pretty darn amazing, and when I started it at around 10 PM in the night, and I didn't leave my iPad till about 2 AM in the morning - yes, I was gritty eyed the next day at work, but damn was it worth it!

And the fact that it had everything from suspense to hot scenes to humor and the protagonists were some of the best that I have read in a long time!

Can't wait to read more from this author :D
