Did I love this as much as Brutal Obsession? No.
Did I still thoroughly enjoy this? Absolutely.
Will S. Massery be an automatic download on anything she releases? Without a doubt.

I love all of the Hawks boys and I love Steel, however I think he took it a bit far for me. I was not about the tattoo and I don't know how Aspen was so relaxed with half of the things he did to her. This one was very dark, maybe a touch too dark. I still liked it, I just thought it went a bit far sometimes. I was also not about Taliah and Cillian - how could you get with your besties uncle!

I am loving this series! This book you may need ice to cool down and a cold shower. This book has so many kinks and dirty hot smexy scenes. Steele meet Aspen at a summer party what either of them are they are going to become step siblings. This book is dark, and has some major triggering moments so check your triggers. We kinda got to see who might be next of the guys to get their HEA.

Good lord talk about unhinged. Once again very very blurred lines between dub consent and it being not but continued to surprise me with the smut! Steele is an absolute loose cannon who pushed it so fucking far on multiple occasions but somehow would slip his way back into her (and my) heart! Loved Aspen as well, my poor girl went through it in this book but held strong throughout!

The reason for not 5 star was the fact that Steele caused her to use her safe words, that scene was so horrible and stressful to read.

Again otherwise, loved the backstory and drama, the ending was intense and I’m glad her dad died, what an absolute wanker.

I enjoy this series but sometimes I just need more. I love the characters but sometimes I want more about the characters and less smut. Dont get me wrong im ALL ABOUT the smut but when it pulls away from the story sometimes you just cant. I feel like it was the same with Grey and Violet that I wanted from Steele and Aspen.

Trigger episode was written so well

Right from their very first meeting, Aspen and Steele just connected. Of course, it couldn't be smooth sailing for them and some of the things Steele did, definitely crossed the line, but they got their HEA in the end.

I had my heart in my throat when Aspen was triggered, but it was written so well.

I read on Kindle and read along on Audible. Voice actors did a good interpretation of the characters.

I don't know how S. Massery does it, but she manages to make me hate the hero and then halfway through I start rooting for him. I wasn't sure how to rate this one because I really did enjoy it and thought we had a good character arc for Steele, it just took me a while to get through.

I really liked Aspen as a heroine more than Violet because she was much stronger and fought back (a little). Steele came off darker than I was expecting after how he was portrayed in the first book. I loved how obsessed he was with Aspen and how he made the turn from bully to protector. They seemed like the perfect fit together. This was so spicy and there is a lot of sex scenes.

I appreciated that Steele actually had remorse for some of his bullying. Let's face it, he does some truly stupid things to make her life hell that have dangerous consequences.

This book did seem a little too similar to the first one with a bully relationship and the heroine has a stalker again that puts her life in danger.

TW: CNC, dubcon, missed safeword, child abuse, drugging, violence

This is the second book in this series and Steele is a bully, yes, but not like Grayson. He was psychotic.  Steele did some horrible things to Aspen but she tried to have a backbone.

The prologue was hot. And the sex was on fire. The two of them together were panty drenching ridiculousness. Lots of somno, lots of oral (missing from the first one), voyeurism, primal play, all sorts of great stuff. Loved it. And there was a plot too. Bully plot with a stalker subplot. Like the first book.

Aspen had a history of trauma so watch your triggers here.

There are some things that happen that got a little darker too, near the last part of the book. I'm sensing a theme with this series. Not that this is a bad thing. It's doable. I'm digging the series so far. First time reading this author and I like it so far.

The audio was bomb. I love Teddy Hamilton and Desiree Ketchum and they both did a fantastic job with this one.
