Breaking Away by Megan Lowe is the third instalment of her Rocking Races series. This time following Mav, the quiet thoughtful brother, Megan yet again creates a story so engaging that it was impossible to put the book down.

Maverick - Mav - Ryan is tired of bikes. Sure he enjoys riding still but the competing isn't something he wants to do anymore. He isn't sure it is ever really something he wanted to do. However he continues on, not wanting to let his family down.
One night it all becomes too much. Leaving without a goodbye to anyone he takes off and makes a last minute acceptance to university to study computers. He knows taking off like he did is wrong, but he just can't bear to see the disappointment in his family's eyes when he tells them he wants out.

Aubrey James has had enough of bad boys. She knows what they want, and how they go about getting it, and she wants nothing to do with that. So when she takes one look at Mav she knows he had to stay away, not matter how charming he might appear.
And yet the more she gets to know him the more she begins to doubt her judgement. Maybe he isn't what she thought he was. It all comes to a head when Mav steps in to help her out of a situation that anyone else would have walked away from.

Their relationship is far from easy though, with Aubrey still consumed with doubts and Mav still consumed with guilt. And when a past trouble rears its head it is up to Aubrey and Mav to decide if this is something they are willing to fight for.

This book was just as good as the previous two in the series. It was gripping from the word go and the characters drew me in as much as those before had done. Well written and captivating this book does full justice to was has become one of my favourite series.

Breaking Away- Megan Lowe

5 out of 5 stars

Breaking Away by Megan Lowe is another 5 star book in the Rocking Racers series. It’s the 3rd book and one that I have been waiting to read since I first started the series. I have loved every book so far and this one is no different, it exceeded my expectations by far. Megan is a phenomenally talented author whose stories are so captivating and told with so much detail it’s impossible not to love them. From the very first chapter I was hooked as I fell in love with Mav from his first appearance in the series. Breaking Away is another must read book!

Maverick Ryan is an incredible freestyle motocross rider, a man with so many medals but even with all he has to show for his career he still feels like there’s more out there for him. His other brothers love the sport but he can’t help but feel like something is missing. But how could something be missing when he has fame, fortune, and family. He feels trapped, not wanting to disappoint everyone by pursuing his dreams. He eventually decides to leave his career and family behind as goes to attend university. Mav feels a sense of freedom as he starts his studies, he gets settled into his routine, spending lots of time with Josh and Josh’s sister, Aubrey. Even though he’s finally doing what he wants he can’t help but feel guilty for leaving his family and for abandoning his career. Aubrey suggests he can ride and attend school at the same time, a thought that never crossed his mind. Will Mav be able to find a balance between his two dreams or will he be forced to forget about one of his dreams in order to pursue the other?

I don’t think I could say enough positive things about this series, it’s simply amazing and one that shouldn’t be missed. The storyline is intense, the characters are perfect and it’s the perfect blend of funny and emotional moments. Mav is probably my favorite Ryan Man, with his tattoos he’s go the whole bad boy look down but he also has a heart of gold, Aubrey is his perfect match and vice versa. I loved their story and would highly recommend this book; I look forward to reading the rest of the series!

This is such a great series! Breaking Away is my favorite so far. I fell head over heels for Mav. I love how protective he is over Aubrey, all while questioning whether he deserves her and struggling to find who he is outside of his tight-knit family.

Breaking Away: Rocking Racers Series, Book 3
By Megan Lowe
5/5 Stars

Breaking Away is book 3 in the Rocking Racers Series by Megan Lowe. It's an intense sports ( FMX ) , romance novel. Full of love, laughter and family. It's about someone who is in the pinnacle of his career, finding his own way.
This is part of a wonderful series and should be read in order. Trust me , you will not be disappointed!! You will fall in love with all of the characters in their own unique way!!!
One of the things I love about this series is the family dynamics. It's a very large family, everyone is different and has their own personality. But yet, everyone is so close. Their bond is unbearable, no matter what!!
Maverick “Mav” Ryan has a life , many people are envious of. He has the loving family, career, charm and looks to die for. He is the incredible professional freestyle motocross rider, four time gold medalist winner even. He truly has it all! But yet something is missing, but he doesn't know what. He's very jaded at the young age of twenty years old. Doesn't let many people in his life.
Aubrey James is your young , eighteen year old college student. She devotes all her time and attention to school. With very little time for anything else. She has given up on dating… simple as that! But she is very attracted to Mav. But she seems to think she knows his type. So she has decided to keep him at arm's length at all times. But for how long? Why?
I honestly can not say enough wonderful things about this book ( and series ). I love it soooo very much!! One of my favorite series of all time!!
Now, I just hope we don't have to wait forever for the fourth book. I can't wait to see what happens next!!! And we'll… I truly can't wait to see what happens with Mav and Aubrey in the future.
Mav is probably my character so far!! Besides being covered in tats, which I love! He's sweet, charming and loves ( and adores ) his close knit family!! What's not to love?! I can picture him in my head… let me just say, yummy!!!!
Phenomenal job, Megan!! I can't wait to see what's next from you!!

Book Review: Breaking Away
Author: Megan Lowe
FIVE STARS
This the third book in the Rocking Racers series and Megan Lowe has another wonderful story here. Her books are full of passion not just sexual but also passion for what they love to do and passion for family. The Ryan family is a motocross family and they fully support each other in what they choose to do and where they choose to go.
Maverick has been racing motocross and extreme fmx for several years along side his brothers, he is really good at it, yet, it is not where he sees himself in the future. He wants more with his life, he just doesn't know how to make that happen without disappointing his family. So one night after a race, Mav leaves a note for his family and just drives away. He receives several calls on the way telling him they support him and understand. What a family.
But now will Maverick find what it is he has been missing being in the motocross life for so long? Or will he return to what he knows and just survive and do his best with the rest of the family?
Aubrey James has had a hard time with the "bad boys" she has chosen. But there is something about Mav Ryan, her brothers friend, that intrigues her. When he steps up to help her out, she begins to rethink her position.
Will Mav be able to put his own demons to rest so that he can find his way with Aubrey? Will Aubrey be able to put her past behind her? Will Mav find that home is the best place or is his place next to Aubrey?
This book is full of passion and fear of the unknown. Grabbing hold of life with both hands and taking it for the ride of a lifetime.
Great book just like the first two. You really feel like you can be pulled into this family just reading the pages.

Breaking Away
By Megan Lowe
5 shiny stars!
This book (and series) is just truly wonderful! Probably one of my favourites so far this year! Breaking Away which is the third book in the series (could be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the previous ones first) and is everything that I have come to expect from this author and possibly even surpassed that!
I don’t quite know what I was expecting from Mav but I do know that he took me completely by surprise. I absolutely loved him! I admired his strength to break away from the family and pursue something that he really wanted to do. He had such a lovely and genuine personality and that shone through when it came to Aubrey. I also loved his relationship with his family - they mean everything to him and I could really sense how he felt when they were upset with him for what he did.
I loved Aubrey! She had a really great feisty personality and she was the perfect match for Mav – they worked well together as a couple. I felt for her when it came to her troubled relationship with her Grandpa and also with her brother in some respects. She certainly kept Mav on his toes during their first few encounters!
There really were some fantastic and much unexpected twists in this story! There were also some pretty sensitive issues explored to, especially regarding Aubrey’s twin brother Josh. I admire the author for writing about them and thought she did so with respect whilst outlining what these problems can cause for the person and also their family and friends.
This really was a fantastic addition to an already amazing series! I am really looking forward to reading more from the Ryan brothers – especially Jax!!

Breaking Away (Rocking Racers #3) by Megan Lowe
Rated 5 stars

Maverick Ryan is a tattooed, lip and eyebrow ring many times gold winner of the extreme games. All of those things make others see him differently. Some want him for his wins others want him for his bad boy image....Aubrey just wants him for him. He might look extreme on the outside but on the inside he is shy, quiet, likes to keep to himself and sit back and watch his brothers be crazy.

Aubrey James and her twin brother, Josh definitely add to the story in more ways than the obvious one. Josh is a little like Mav and that helps them become best friends quickly. I think he looks up to Mav like a big brother. Aubrey loves her brother and is a good person for Mav to have around. She helps him see things a little differently plus she makes him happy and feel lighter.

I love when Mav calls Jax for girl advice then threatens him with "wait til you find your own girl" ha ha ha Jaxs response was perfect!
In fact the whole phone call was just what I needed to put a smile on my face and lightness in my heart...brotherly love. One of the best parts of the book! Oh those Ryan boys *sigh*

I LOVE LOVE LOVED seeing all the family again! I agree with Mav when he said Aubrey slotted in with the family just like Bria did. This story is just as good as the first book and I get the same wonderful feeling from both stories. I wonder if there are any Ryan boys I could latch onto?? Ha ha just kidding...no seriously is there? They treat their women right and have a unparalleled love of family.
Reed has always been my favorite Ryan but after reading this he has some competition with Jax! He added a lot to this story in the showing of his relationship with Mav. I didn't realize they were so tight and yet complete opposites. I really liked the storyline but the parts with Jax or the other Ryan's totally made everything better.
The author hit it out of the park with this third installment of the Rocking Racers! The writing was smooth and many times I felt like I was right there in the room with them. Great job! That connection is what makes these stories fun to read and be read time and time again.
I can NOT wait for Jax's story! He is quite the character and I hope his story is as fun and outrageous as he is. I mean how can it not? Its Jax!

Breaking Away (Rocking Racers Book 3) by Megan Lowe is the third book in her Rocking Racer series. This story can be read as a standalone but I would highly recommend going back and reading the previous two stories. Each book is about two different characters but each book also has the previous characters in them also. It would give you more back ground information on some of the characters. This is my favorite series by this author and they just keep getting better and better. The characters in this book are a little rough but you will love them. They will take you on a roller coaster ride of various emotions that you won't want to miss. They will pull you into their world and keep you engaged until the last word. I love how these characters just pop off the page because they are so connectable. Find out what happens when it is time to find your own passion in life.

Mav Ryan has a high profile career in FMX and to everyone he looks like he is living the dream. But he wants something more, something different, he wants out.

Aubrey James has had enough of bad boys to last an entire life time. What will happen when her brother brings home this tattooed bad boy? When her past shows up, she is surprised that Mav steps in to protect her. Will he be able to fight his demons and her past at the same time? Will he find a home after breaking away from his family?

Mav and Aubrey's relationship starts at the bus stop and continue to grows from there. He has left his family in order to pursue his dreams but feels guilty for doing it. She is just plain done with bad boys, she has had enough. Will he break down her walls and will she give him a chance? These are two great characters that are strong, both have some insecurities that need to be worked on in my opinion. Mav is hot, sexy man who doesn't want to let his family down but on the other hand he wants to pursue his dreams. Aubrey is smart and independent. She has been hurt in the past by other bad boys but what will she do when she starts feeling something for this bad boy? She has spent time being mean to him but he still seems to come back for more. She has become a great support to him, showing him that he is worth something and enough. She really needs to heal and be able to move on from her past. The secondary characters some of which we have seen in previous books are just as supportive to both main characters. I know that I for one can't wait to see who gets their own book next! Find out if Mav and Aubrey get their HEA or will fate have other plans for them? Will Mav finally stop feeling guilty for breaking away? Will Aubrey just let down her guard so that she can find the happiness she deserves?

I am not sure how many books of Megan Lowe I have read but I love this series. Her writing style is such that it will pull you in from the first word. She will keep you engaged until the very end. Megan is a lost journalism graduate who was not able to find a job and that is when she finally gave in to the characters in her head and started writing. She enjoys writing on the theme of music and sports. You will love how you will not be able to put this book down. You will need to see what happens and it keeps you turning page after page. I highly recommend this book as I know you will want to find out what happens to Mav and Aubrey.

Breaking Away is the third enthralling instalment in the Rocking Racer’s Series by Megan Lowe. It is a contemporary/sports romance that enthralled me from the moment I opened the book. I have loved following this series and getting to know this wonderful cast of characters. They are really well developed, fascinating and endearing.
This book can be read as a standalone, but I do recommend that you read the other books before starting this one, as a lot of the characters, information and back story to Ryan Racing is revealed in those books and will definitely increase the enjoyment factor of this story for you.
At 21 years old, Maverick Ryan is the sexy, tattooed, second youngest of the Ryan brothers. He is a champion FMX rider at the top of his career. He grew up around bikes, watching his brothers race and it was just assumed that he would follow them into the sport, which he did and became really good at it, very quickly. But, he doesn’t relish the limelight like his brothers do, they are more the outgoing performers, he’s more of the strong, silent type. Being the centre of attention makes him feel uncomfortable.
Mav is really proud of his family and their accomplishments, he’s just miserable with the racing lifestyle. He feels guilty for not being happy, because racing has done so much for him and the rest of the Ryan’s. But, he feels like there is something missing from his life and it’s something he won’t find racing. So, he packs up and leaves home, with only a note left behind to let his family know he has gone. He’s worried that he’s just a big disappointment to them. That he’s let them down, and he’s not sure if they will understand why he needed to leave.
Travelling interstate, he finds somewhere to stay and prepares for a fresh start. Having always loved computers, his plan is to attend University, enrolling in an IT course. What he hadn’t planned for was meeting his friend’s beautiful sister, and how that would make him feel.
Aubrey James still feels the sting from a past relationship gone wrong. She refuses to put herself in that position again. Bad boys are a definite no-go…. they’re nothing but trouble. So, when she meets her brother’s tattooed friend, oozing that bad boy vibe, she wants nothing to do with him. But, when a situation occurs and Mav steps up to help, she begins to re-evaluate her opinion of him. She may have jumped to a conclusion and misjudged him in the process. Can Mav dismantle her defences? Will she take a chance on happiness with him? Did Mav make the right decision when he left home, and racing, behind him? Will he find what’s been missing from his life? What about the rest of the Ryan’s, will they understand why Mav had to leave, or is his relationship with them now damaged beyond repair?
This book is another superb addition to this wonderful series.
Mav is so sexy- I loved getting to know him better. I ended up loving Aubrey, even though I wasn’t quite sure to begin with. I love the Ryan’s, they are all wonderful, supportive and caring. All the Ryan brothers are so divine and hunky- I loved exploring their world once again.
The story is fast paced and easy to read. I practically inhaled it, completing it in a day. I can’t wait to see what’s next!

Thank you, Ms. Lowe.
