I listened to this as an audiobook, and I enjoyed hearing the author tell the story, I highly recommend it. There is something very pure in these pages, and in what the book is trying to teach. It is nice to look at the world from his perspective, especially after he has seen so much pain and war. It feels like what a grandparent would say to their grandchild, what they learned in their lives that they want to impart. Definitely enjoyed, and the lessons were simple in a world that feels complex.

Yesss- just yes! Another book that I believe everyone should read. It‰ЫЄs an easy, quick read that can be done in a day. BUT, it‰ЫЄs best to take your time to read it. Read a bit, reflect, sleep on it, and then read some more. A true must read for people of any age!

As always the admiral has penned another inspiring book! This one will be going in a graduation gift with “Make Your Bed” - it’s a short book so if you own and haven’t read or can listen to it on overdrive I’d recommend! They are both most certainly worth the read!

A short inspiring book aimed at a wide range of audience, without losing depth. (This is probably more for people 22 and under TBH or someone with no prior military knowledge)

I have read books by former military guys like Jim Mattis and Jocko Willink. Admiral McRaven's The Hero Code is definitely one I'd recommend for all people. This book does a great job of creating a sense of unity for humanity, something I do see a bit lacking from most former military people. Each section is well written and inspiring. It does not shy away from hard subjects.

The US is lucky to have a guy like McRaven. I hope he inspires the next generation.
