The story
Nate is the Amelia’s brother Jack’s best friend. Amelia has been trailing after Nate since she was a young girl, and although Jack and their friend Peter tried to get rid of her, Nate never did. With a four year age gap, it wasn’t easy but as teenagers, Nate realised that Amelia was the only person for him. But life hasn’t been plain sailing and when things got rough, their relationship fell apart. Nate is back in town and Amelia wants nothing to do with him. Will he be able to win her over?

My thoughts
This is the third book in this series set in a Rhode Island town on the water. It’s a complex story with twists and turns and much miscommunication. But eventually the strong feelings and sense of being soulmates that both Nate and Amelia have for each other allow them to work through the misunderstandings. There is a lot of sadness and difficult topics covered in this story. This felt less of a fun romcom than the first two books did, with a more serious slant. An enjoyable read

2.5 ⭐️ there was so much miscommunication in this book and for how old they were that’s just freakin dumb. Liken please for the love of god talk to eachother. I adopt DNFd several times but pushed on hoping it would get better and it never really did.

I would give this book a 3.5. I actually loved the plot and the characters, but I think the story was a little simple. I enjoyed this book and would recommend to others, just not before a few other books I've read this year.

This book was written entirely on 7,000 scraps of paper which were tossed into the sky and collected randomly to make a “story”, and you cannot convince me otherwise.

What an absolute clusterfuck. No, seriously. I don’t think I’ve read a book this garbled in… Maybe ever. There was miscommunication after miscommunication after miscommunication. The heroine says one thing and does another a paragraph later. She says she’s not a crier and cries approximately 1500 times in this book.

I yelled, WHAT??? while reading in nearly every chapter because it’s like the author specifically set out to contradict literally everything she put in this book.

Poor character development, poor story development, poor plotting, poor execution.

Truly, an absolute train wreck.

I love a second chance romance, especially a first love

"if you ever want to hurt someone you should give them silence"
