This book was an absolute joy. I’ll admit I read it looking for the scoop I’d heard she gave on her relationships, but it was so much more than that. Jessica has a truly open heart and it was wonderful to learn about all of the good things she has done in her life that aren’t reported to the press. I also really appreciated how honest she was-there were a lot of admissions that most celebrities don’t make and I truly felt like I was spending time with a friend while I read the book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I read the audiobook which I think helped me connect with the stories she was telling since it was narrated by Jessica herself.

The beginning started out a bit strange to me and I did know how much I would enjoy it, but I gave it a fair shot and I’m so glad I did! She spares no details and takes you on an incredible journey through her past and all that she endured. You could tell when she was emotional while reading aloud certain parts which made me get emotional too even though I can’t relate to her experiences. It was really interesting to hear about all these infamous pop culture moments I had grown up knowing about, but getting the inside perspective from them.

She does a great job of telling her truth, yet wasn’t too preachy and I appreciated her vulnerability in taking accountability and not just blaming others like so many can do when writing a tell all. I think she was very respectful of everyone she mentions while still being upfront and honest which I appreciate.

Overall, I thought it was a really great book and it was really interesting to learn more about her!

I would have never picked this book out on my own, but several readers I trust recommended it. Jessica’s rags to riches story, though not relatable, was still supremely human and compelling. Her honesty and openness were endearing. I have nothing but best wishes for her in the future.

I went into this not really knowing much about Jessica Simpson. However, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I listened to it on audio, which has the added bonus of being narrated by Jessica, herself.

The memoir offered a lot of insight about who Jessica is at her core, and the things that got her where she is. It felt very real and honest. In many ways the memoir serves as an inspiration to others, while also shedding some light on the true Jessica Simpson.
