I read this with my 9 year old and he loved it. Begged for more and more chapters every night.

Listened on a road trip with the kids. Very funny for the 8- 13 yr old crowd.

A really great, fast read. Entertaining enough to keep you interesting with enough twists to suck you in.

When Wyatt's eighth grade class takes a trip to Washington D.C he has no idea what they are in for. It starts with 2 weird guys on the plan - an oversized carryon, a backpack, and a weird device. When Wyatt and Matt get involved it goes from bad to worse including kidnapping, irate taxi drivers, dragon kites, poisonous snakes, and a plot to assassinate the president.

Not sure whether to call this an action/adventure or humorous but overall I liked it - fast paced and funny.

What fun! I can not think of a single 6th or 7th grader who won't find this book hilarious!

Solid Dave Barry story. About a kid on a middle school field trip to D.C. He and his buddies become embroiled in a plot to do something nefarious. However all is not as it seems. Let the hilariousness ensue.

Cute funny reminded me of capture the flag. Good characters. Only thing that bothers me is listed for elementary but characters are in eighth grade.

Something about this book rubbed me the wrong way. I think if I was a 12 year old boy, I probably wouldn't care so much, and that is the target audience so it's not that big of a deal. But reading this as an adult that lived through 9/11, it was hard for me to feel comfortable while reading about supposed terrorist plots and assassinations. It just kept me from laughing at all the fart jokes...I wanted to laugh but it was just really hard with that plot line yanking me out of the funny and into the real world.

I was really hoping that this was just going to be a story of shenanigans as the kinds bumbled around, I felt the terrorist plot was unnecessary. Wyatt and his friends were clearly dufuses and they didn't need a wacky plot to make idiots of themselves. Just wandering D.C. as a class should have been funny enough.

Oh well...kind of a let down from some one who loved Dave Barry when she was 13...

My 9yo daughter loved this and wants her 7yo brother to read it too, so it was time for this mom to vet it. I can both see why my daughter loved it and be comfortable with not loving it as an adult. From the character who farts a lot, to a doofus teacher who can’t get anything right, the book is clearly targeted toward elementary or middle school readers. That said, the book builds to an engaging (if ridiculous) climax that kept me, and my daughter, turning the pages.
