Thanks to @booktasters_ on Instagram and Andrew Einspruch for giving me a free copy of this book! As always, my review is honest.

I'm not going to lie, I chose to read this one because of the cover. I just love it, that's point number one. Point number two: this was whimsical and it's exactly what it promises to be, a humorous fantasy story.

The thing is that the humor is not my style and it just wasn't for me, so I couldn't have as much fun with the story as it wanted me to. That said, it was entertaining, adventurous, and purposefully odd, which was very interesting to explore.

I can see a lot of people enjoying this book more than I did just because vibing with the humor is so important to vibing with the story itself. So, I would encourage anyone interested in this genre to give this one a try!

This was really good! I devoured it in a few hours. I loved the writing and the pacing of this book. The writing was done so well that I could picture this in my head really well.  The storyline was done really well too. Eloise was amazing. She's great as main character. I loved all of her little mannerisms in this book that made her a bit relatable.  The cliffhanger ending has me wanting to read the next book immediately. I have to know what happens between Eloise and Jerome. All of the characters in this book were amazing and written really well. Overall, i really enjoyed this book and can definitely see myself picking up the next book soon.

I first saw the book and fell in love with the pretty cover, also my favourite colour is purple, so the book has be intrigued.

The book started off with Eloise and Jerome being the friends they are & accepting Jerome ,the chipmunk as a Champion. They both are so funny together, I laughed so much.

The writing style is easy to read, for a past paced reader like me, not too difficult to understand. The plot building goes from introducing the characters and getting us acclimatised to their personality to understand better.

Next thing I loved is the sibling bond, Eloise going for her twin sister Johanna.that’s truly wonderful. The mysterious purple haze divides the country.
The plotting of the antagonist is also done is a great way.

Overall I would say it’s pretty hilarious YA book, written wonderfully by the author. One thing is that chapters are too long and a bit dragging. It could be done in short instead of streching that much.Thankyou Booktasters and Mr Einsprusch for giving me a free copy of this book in response for a honest review

Gosh. I just don't care about this book. I read comedy, I read fantasy, and the absurd is my jam. But this left me bored. DNF at only 11%, with zero will to continue.
Full of tropes, ridiculous names, and apparently I have no sense of humour, as I was more annoyed than amused by the writing - I doubt I cracked a smile, let alone laughed.
I'm annoyed, because the book sounded promising.

This was a really fun read, that had me enthralled. Einspruch spins a classic tale of fantasy encompassing fellowships, epic journeys, (weak) magic, sibling rivalry, sisterhood and intrigue, balanced with a healthy amount of humour, wit and umlauts.

Princess Eloise Hydra Gumball III, mildly OCD future ruler and heir to the Western Kingdom and All that Really Matters, sets off on an epic quest to find and rescue her sister, who has disappeared with her uncle and a pair of sinister jesters. Accompanying the princess on her quest is an array of human and non-human characters, including a chipmunk with a penchant for tea and regional festivals, a stoic guard horse who has taken a vow of silence, and many, many more.

Einspruch's writing has a very "Pratchett" feel, with wordplay and witticisms painting vivid pictures and conjuring the appropriate moods. Often this style of writing can feel forced, but it flows easily from Einspruch's pen, allowing the reader to revel in both epic and absurdity at once.
The humour is woven seamlessly into the story, from the excessive use of umlauts and accents on the names, to twists on modern musical and pop-cultural references (the aside regarding the Messengers and Interceptors Guild had me in stitches).

A thoroughly enjoyable read! I look forward to reading the next instalment in the series

The Purple Haze is filled with wit, witticisms, Easter eggs (a gamer term, in this case) and marvelous puns. The characters, human and non-human, are expertly created to cling to the reader's mind for ever greater enjoyment as the reader turns each page. The world is fabulously described as are the scenes enacted in it. I laughed, guffawed, and giggled. I also shed a few tears. Not only are the things true, the storyline is awesomely crafted. I also learned a few new words due to the ability to touch a word on my Kindle and promptly have the definition show itself. My favorite, I think, is the Southie Queen's first name, but I won't ruin it for you. Just go read it for yourself (sizzle). I loved every minute of the time I spent in the awesome story and I hope you do, as well.
