Rereading Skip•Beat! from the beginning. I think I got as far as the Momiji audition in Volume 42 back when I was reading scans. Makes sense that of that was 7 years ago that I'm only behind by 7 volumes. But still! I'm gonna try my patience starting at 1. I'm already second guessing my decision.

But okay, the set up that Kyoko is devoted to her childhood friend Sho to runaway from home and follow him to the city for his dreams of being a celebrity. Abandonment trauma, locked up evil curse spirits, pet rock ... shes a disaster child.

Kyoko also doesn't have a deceitful bone in her body. Shes straightforward, naive, and passionate. Love to see the agency Director take an interest in her. Its the start of the start.

This manga is one of my favourites, so I'm rereading this in the hope that it soon ends, cause it's enormous.

I decided to pick this up on a whim from the library after believing for years that this wasn’t going to be for me. And boy was I wrong. Here I am hooked on yet another 40+ volume shōjo series.

To be honest I think I was judging this based on the art as I don’t think I’ve ever read or heard the synopsis for this series. I was pleasantly surprised I actually grew to enjoy the art and would absolutely recommend this series.

3.5, but I'm intrigued enough to get Volume 2.

This is one of my favorite animes (although they never finished it). Love the characters! Love the revenge plot and love triangle! Highly recommend!
