Interesting start to the series

I’m definitely enjoying this so far and I really like the whole concept of the bone witch and how it works. While the world building isn’t the greatest, there’s definite thought given to the mechanics of the magic.

Writing, however, could use a little work—mainly with the dialogue. Tad sounds just like a very stereotypical BFF and it’s so tiring and cliche at this point. In fact, all of Lennox’s family is basically a caricature and there’s no depth to them at all.

Rogan also doesn’t sound like a man at times…I don’t really know how to explain it but some of the things he says sounds like it would make more sense for Lennox’s character. Part of it is because he phrases things with Lennox’s type of humor and syntax.

On a related note, the author’s walking a fine line with the humor for me. Lennox is one of those sort of oopsie-daisy-i’m-such-a-klutz-and-also-i-just-can’t-stop-word-vomiting-tee-hee kind of FMCs. She thankfully has moments of seriousness to balance it out for the most part, but like I said, it’s a very fine line between it being funny and being over the top annoying.

I didn't hate this at all but I just can't be bothered to finish it. Too many fart/poo jokes with dog were driving me mad, Lennox was quite amusing and I was interested in learning more about her powers but Rogan was so bland I decided it wasn't worth it

Just, really freaking funny. All of Ivy Asher’s main characters are but this world she created just fit more than most. Highly enjoyable. Laughed so many times and hard it startled my dog and he tried to lay on top of me to calm me down.

Hair on my neck STOOD

The details, emotional ride, and the connection I feel to Leni is all just a testament to Asher's incredible writing. I'm so excited to continue this series!!!

Too many pop culture references that took me out. I can get behing a juvenile fmc but this one is supposedly 30 umm okay. The dialogue.. major cringe and bad.

I have serious issues with this one. Consent consent consent. The MC basically made the FMC his slave tied her to him without given an option or opinion. This behavior doesn't improve. I do not ship them. I believe the bond is trying to bring them together hence the mixed signal and sexual tension. He might redeem himself but honestly I don't know if it will be enough since he does what he wants without asking. That's not alpha that's a$$hole. Bring the werewolf back into the mix. He seemed sweet and didn't force anything on her.
I really like the FMC. She is smart, funny, and spunky. Her quips are hilarious. Her family (aunt and cousin)are ride or die and I love it.
