I adore her heroines. They are awkward hysterical little balls of insecure sunshine. I love the banter and the conflicted heroes too.
Lucas and Avery were adorable and funny and their story has probably happened to people all over the world. And their mothers. Oh dear god.

If you're a reader whose hard limit is cheating, don't be scared away by the title nor the blurb. This story is not what you think it is; it's actually quite fun and sexy with none of the kind of cheating you think there is. RVD's brand of humor and playfulness is present as always, and it's a unique tale of a man and a woman, the most unlikeliest of matches, finding their way to one another.

Cheater details a man made up of his choices--one choice in particular. His consequence for that night plays out daily with his schedule of women. But with the addition of Avery into his life, things become muddled and covered in static. It's an unusual plot to a love story with these characters mired by the past and what connects them, but it works. The hilarity that ensues from a quick snowball of the situation gets funnier by the moment. Underneath the humor, though, lies the soul-deep connection these two share and I adored the way RVD carried us through their past and present.

I love stories of redemption and of true love, ones that have wry and witty characters, that ultimately show that faults or shortcomings aren't what make you you. Cheater had all of that and more. I know fans of RVD will love it, and everyone will love Lucas Thorn and the impossible situation he's in.

I don't know if Rachel Van Dyken can do any wrong.

This book is FABULOUS.

It is the perfect concoction of funny, heartwarming, and angst. Oh, and some drama *cue Austin*

But seriously, this book is absolutely wonderful. I laughed so hard I almost woke up the kids, and *sigh*

Just read it :)

Cheater is the first book in the Curious Liaisons series. Please, please, please read this!! This is not a cheating book. Yes, I know what the name says, and I know how we all feel about Cheaters…but if you love Rachel and her books like I do, you will give this a chance. This is a second chance love story. And, yes, she's the sister of his ex fiancee, but it's not what you think. I promise you. Give Lucas Thorn a chance, you will fall for him as hard as I did. He's a complicated man who suffered a loss years ago. And it wasn't the loss of his fiancee. He lost his best friend. The red headed, mouthy girl who he loved spending time with. Four years later and she's his new intern. Avery is not going to make it easy on him. She hates him, or thinks she does. She's so damn funny and quirky and I love her to pieces. Lucas, or Thorn as Avery calls him, has a system and for some reason as soon as Avery shows up, it all goes to hell. Which turns out is a very good thing. Avery can't stop lusting after the man she had a crush on all those years ago. It's wrong. But, why does something so wrong feel so right? I can't really say anymore because I don’t want to give away anything! You really just need to read it! I love Lucas and Avery. I laughed so hard! Then I got hot and bothered, swooned, and laughed more. Lucas and Avery are one of my favorite RVD couples! I couldn’t put it down and I didn't want it to end!

"As amusing as it is to make you suffer, I’m not going to let you go down with the Titanic."
"Are you the Titanic in this situation?"
"Get on the lifeboat. Maybe in your version you can save Jack and live happily ever after."

"And...I will now bid you farewell."
"Tell me how much you hate yourself for saying 'bid' and 'farewell' in the same sentence."
"So, so much."

"You're a bad habit, Thorn. An addiction I can't kick - each kiss gets me drunker than the first, until I lose all sense of right and wrong."

I enjoyed this story more than I thought I would. No not because of the name. Because going in you expect it.

What I didn't expect was to like Lucas as much as I did.
I loved the banter between Lucas and Avery. She is totally funny and a cool chick. Can I please be besties with her?

Lucas, once I got what was really going on. I kind of felt badly for him, he was just misunderstood and needed to protect himself so he did what he thought was best.

Avery too on that she protected herself maybe a little too well. Her food obsession made me so dang hunger! Ha and I have never heard of some of the food mentioned in the book! :-p

I love the scenes with Lucas’s mother they made me laugh so hard.

I enjoyed both narrators but I have to say this Alexanders “female voice” yeah NOT for me at all. I would have rather he just spoke those in his own voice because not for me. Love Lucy performance she is a favorite of mine. :)

If you’re looking for a Rom Com this is totally worth the read.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

I think I read this many moons ago before I discovered Goodreads, don't remember my rating from back then...
This time around I listened to the audiobook and it was fun, although I wasn't charmed by the male narrator's impression of Avery's voice, even though I liked his character...
But, I always have a great time reading Rachel's books, and this one was no exception
