Well-written, intense, and intriguing book. A guaranteed page-turner.

This is a book filled with secrets, unexpected twists, mystery, and suspense. This book has an action-packed beginning as Mila is taken by the Collector because debt is owed. She is a mystery to Nicholai and he works to figure her out. This story is thrilling and the development of the romance between Mila and Nicholai was entertaining.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to the other books in the series.

The premise of this book had me from the beginning. It was suspenseful and i was all about finding our what was going on. I enjoyed it until I didn't. The last 25% of the story was fast and didn't really give the closure I was looking for which was a shame because the story had been good.

I'm founding to four stars because it was intriguing and did keep me turning the pages.

The book was ok, but a somewhat predictable and instantly forgettable cookie-cutter "dark" (and only because the MMC was unrepentant regarding his actions) mafia romance. It was a freebie on Amazon but I'm not sure I'd spend money on buying the next book

I couldn't be bothered to write a review as soon as I'd finished and now I barely recall anything that happened - I certainly can't remember their names! However it was well written enough that I read the whole book, I don't remember it being too far-fetched or OTT so there were positives too.

Middling mafia romance with a couple of eye-roll plot holes.

When The Collector comes for you, your time is up and there is nowhere you could run that he can’t find you. He is hired to do one thing and that is collect those his boss needs with no questions asked, so when he is informed he needs to collect Mila he thinks it’s just another day another job for him. Mila has kept her head down for a long time, but when she meets The Collector, she knows her time is up. She is kept at his house which is unusual because most go straight to the can and wait for their judgment. The more time Mila spends in The Collector’s presence something starts to form between them even if they both know it’s a horrible idea to act on it. The Collector reveals his name to Mila, Nicholas, and they have this chemistry no one can deny but it is also a death sentence. Can they figure out who is after them, will they have to stay on the run, how will they get out of the circumstances they find themselves in? This book was intense with a lot of action and suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat. I loved them together and was pulling for them to overcome it all.

This just didn’t have the spark it needed. The Collector was a bit too subservient to his boss Victor….

4.5 stars for this book.

This was an action-packed, semi-violent book with abuse (from antagonists) and great sexual chemistry between the main pairing. I liked how the pacing was just perfect for the romance to develop and the characters to get to know each other.

I loved the name The Collector; it sounds so hot. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Thanks to Booksprout for a copy of this book.

The premise of this book is so good, but, unfortunately, it fell a bit flat.
A book like this could easily been 300+ pages and added really deep backstories for the main characters.

What is The Mill exactly? Why was is such a big deal for Egor that Mila saw the the killing? You'd also think The Collector would be higher up in the Bratva then what Nikolai was. He don't know where the leader lives? And don't know her daugher? Weird.
It also have a lot of spelling mistakes. I'm not sure I would read the second book, even tho Lucca seems really intresting!
