Felt familiar, then dropped twist after twist.

This book was a disappointment. The story had potential, but the writing was lazy and had no depth to it. It could have been so much better if the author had made it longer and added more detail.

This book was a crazy ride! 😳 I tried to keep an open mind and tried not to ruin it for myself but I finish this having totally called the ending. The build up was just way too intense for it to have ended a different way. While I applaud the author for trying to throw me off the scent it happened way too late in the book for the alternative scenario to be believable. I would love to go back and untangle some of the different webs the author spun while writing this because the end just seemed pretty jumbled up and a tad bit rushed tbh.

Well. My girl Alice Feeny RUINED ME, because now I just can't stand obvious plots that are based on the given sinopsis. This one got me like: "I know what happens, but I want to know how it happens, but it seems it's not happening like I think it will, but maybe it's gonna..." so it was a good one overall. I did see a few holes here and there, some things that didn't scratched my brain the right way, and when we get to THAT point, you still don't feel it itching as it should so I'm taking one star because of that. It just felt off even in the off scenes (hope this makes sense). I did enjoy it a lot, I was standing reading in my living room with pure disbelief and I was even thinking "maybe this is an unreliable character" but it gave what it needed to give. I'll probably won't forget this plot in a while.

Definitely a page turner, I’m still in shock (which is exactly what I look for on a thriller). It was very frustrating how all the characters acted, especially the dad, but i am still pretty he had to die.

2.75-3/5 ⭐️s - I was bored 50% of the book, 40% frustrated, and 10% was meh - it wasn’t a bad book but it wasn’t anything special either. Almost all the characters were extremely annoying, except for the dog (maybe?). As a harsh judge of thriller books, I'd say this is an okay read overall.
