So much information on a Egyptian History, mostly based on the women who had rolled her back to male counterpart. Oh I, myself, I’m not the biggest fan of history, so adding the learner of the injustice and equality of women and men really sparked an interest in fire in my soul. Especially in these times, the idea of women rising up, dwells within me from beginning to end. This discusses the rule and why women were pushed out of politics back then and draws on current political and societal circumstances of the women versus men dynamic in the US and also across the world.

While reading the book I was reading it 3/5. However, the epilogue pushed my rating to a 4/5. The author summarizes why the history of women rulers is relevant to us today. Living in a majority patriarchal world blinds all of us to our cultural biases. We need to understand how strengths/weaknesses that characteristically are attributed to women can benefit the world in general, recognizing how the traditional roles of men can and have truly hurt civilization. The author intertwines current political situations to improve our understanding of the various historical situations. (I also hadn’t realized how incestuous many of the Egyptian dynasties were, wow)
