I really enjoyed this book. At times, I thought it might take the number one spot so far for me in the Lords series. This book was about Tyson and Laikyn’s story. I liked the overlap with characters from the previous books. There was lots of spice and plot. As usual, check your trigger warnings. Highly recommend if you enjoyed the previous books.

This was by far the best book in this series so far! This story kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time and I could not put this down! The forced marriage/touch and her and die story was so well written and has set things up nicely for the next book.

I really enjoyed learning Tyson's backstory and appreciated Ryat and Sin from the two previous books were featured. I loved the dual POVs of Tyson and Laikyn and how we could see both sides of the same situation which helped keep me engaged in the story and answered lots of questions.

I definitely did not see the twist that came and really enjoyed that it actually fit in with the storyline stead of going off the rail like other books.

SPOILERS… 🖤

I don’t know what it is about these Lords but… no matter what they do or how irredeemable they seem to be, I still end up falling for them.

I think Lake was a good FMC, she showed a little bit of backbone from time to time but mostly she was just as weak and submissive as I would expect. I think knowing so much about Tyson and already liking him from the first two books helped a lot here. I’m not sure I’d have liked him so much if I didn’t already know he was some sort of decent. Well, as decent as it gets for a morally grey character.

It did feel like we went from 0-60 on the emotional front, though. They didn’t admit their feelings verbally for a minute but all of a sudden everyone seemed really aware that what they had going on was something real. This and the ending felt like it snuck up on me. I’m okay with that and it didn’t take away from the story for me, if anything I was relieved.

The twists were twisty and ithevplot kept me guessing. If I’ve learned one thing about Shantel in this series, it’s that her overall attitude towards every FMC’s parents is: f*ck you. And like, I’ve got trauma so same 😂

My only real complaint here - the fact that Luke assaulted Lake while she was unconscious. It would be the one thing I would take out of this. I’m not sure if it’s because I like MMC’s possessive and to be the first and only? Maybe. Could it also be because I hate the idea that a MMC would fail to protect the girl they love from things like that? Also probably. But some of my favorite dark romance books have a flawed MMC who definitely doesn’t always get it right. So I think it’s okay.

I really need a short book or something about the three families and their kids and what law happens 18 years down the road. Like, yesterday.

Tropes:
Enemies to Lovers
Sisters Ex
Arranged Marriage
V*rg*n FMC
Secret Society

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

The story of Tyson and Lake is so intense. I had in my head a whole different view and backstory of Tyson so this book changed my perspective! His journey among the Lords seems lonely on the aspect of not having any family relationships. He has his close Lord friends but I feel a sense loneliness for him. Could that have been the matching factor for these two? Smut is on key! This book has some WILD turns! Many things I did not see coming!

This has definitely been my favorite of the L.O.R.D.S series so far!

For the first time, I can actually say that I liked the MMC, Tyson. Introducing him as a side character in the previous two books of the series was such a smart move; his familiarity made him significantly more enjoyable from the start, even though his methods weren't always the best. Subsequently, I much preferred this plot over the others. I also loved that we got more of a glimpse into the Spade Brothers for the later book in the series, Carnage.
