Brady Kane is a tropes man and we love to see it. I am feral for second chance romances but this one didn’t really hit like others. However I still enjoyed the book! When Cal was still in active addiction and making mistakes I wanted to throw my kindle because I love him and wanted him to succeed. But he did in the end and it’s well deserved.

Easily a 4.5 star read for me!! Wow, what a way to end this trilogy.

I appreciate how different this book is than the first two in this series. Cal is a totally different character with lots of depth. I really appreciated the way this book tackled addiction and how that impacts one’s life. I love how this book felt more centered around Cal’s growth rather than the relationship between him and Lana. While that still was central to the plot, it was refreshing to read about Cal’s personal journey and I felt more invested in that than the romance aspect.

I loved the single mom trope and how Alana was throughout the story. I think it was really special to read about and I loved her character!!

My reason for this not quite reaching 5 stars…it was SO GOD DAMN LONG LIKE ALMOST 600 PAGES HOLY HELL?? Normally I’d love that if I was super invested, but I felt like the story dragged at times unfortunately…

Even with my criticism I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I would absolutely recommend this trilogy to any romance lovers!!! This was a great ending to the series I grew attached to this past week. Lots of love to you Lauren Asher!!

While not my favourite of the series I did enjoy this book and would recommend the series as a whole. The book is nothing outstanding but I had a good time listening to it.

So cute and very emotional. I still want to kill Seth Kane in case anyone is wondering. But I really liked Alana and finally getting Cal’s story. Also, the progression of Cami and Cal’s relationship was so dang cute. I’ll never get over it.

Second Chance Romance, 2 1/2 🔥

I’d been putting off reading this one for a little bit because I wasn’t ready for the series to be over. But god was it such a beautiful conclusion. Cal’s story positively broke my heart. But watching him grow and change and become the best version of himself was so beautiful. I love a good second chance romance and this one was oh so satisfying!

I actually enjoyed how Cal's addiction was told in this book, I think it was able to explain him but also not excuse him. His addiction also doesn't go away, its a journey he'll continue to fight!
I liked the narrative of him choosing sobriety for himself rather than just Lana, that was a really good touch.

I thought Cal and Lana were cute but the childhood friends to lovers kinda doesnt work if theres a 4 year gap, like Cal at 16 is in love with a 12 year old? I tried not to think of it too much.

Cami was cute, I actually was fond of her.
The townspeople were kinda funny but I wish they were a little more fleshed out.
Delilah and Violet - I don't really know who they are lol they're just there so Lana has people to talk to but they aren't really given distinct personalities.

The book was long and I agree it defintely could've been shorter, but it didn't particularly bother me. It made me laugh a few times. I liked when Cal was like "Yeah, that was totally persuasive. You got her B)" when he convinced absolutely nobody.

It’s really cute but I think it’s important to read the first 2 books to get a better connection with the characters

The final in this series by Asher left little to be desired in a finale book. I loved Cal’s character development through the series and Lana’s character was sweet. The pay off for all of the main characters over the series completing their tasks was unexpected.
