Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for granting me an arc.

This was a fun read!

Talli is the last of her kind, a summoner. Unfortunately that also means she's highly sought after by Lord Ulrich for the sole purpose of exterminating her as the humans have done to every other summoner.

Aided in her escape by her adopted father, Lord Borin, Talli goes on the run with Sir Alan, a Knight and along the way pick up two new companions, Pavel and Lélo. They're hunted by the ferocious Captain Nina who will stop at nothing to complete her mission. In this case taking Talli down.

I actually laughed out loud at one part and I love how they bounce off one another. I can't wait for volume 2

Epic stakes, well constructed characters, and a simple start with clear scaling for the future make this a solid start to a fantasy series ideal for middle school and high school readers.

Lady Talli is there adopted daughter of Lord Born. He kept her as a secret because if the king or the other lords find out about her, they'll kill her. However, the truth can't stay hidden forever. When Lady Talli is forced to escape the castle where she grew up, she is joined by a knight and by a couple of merchants—who also happen to be strong warriors— and together they go on a journey to find a safe place for Talli. At the same time, Talli needs to learn more about her heritage and her powers because she'll need the knowledge if she wants to have a chance to survive.

This comic is full of action starting on page 1. We find out why Talli is wanted for halfway in the comic, and once you find out you can't stop yourself from reading it as fast as possible. I'm also curious to see how the relationship between Talli and Lelo develops. I'm looking forward to volume 2.

I received an ARC through NetGalley, but I'm leaving a voluntary and honest review.

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange of an honest review.

I typically love graphic novels and this one pulled my attention from the title and description alone. However, I felt the plot was lackluster, even though we started off with a high-speed chase/run away. The action continued throughout and this novel is certainly fast paced. Around the 60% mark, we got more explanations and more of what the plot points are/will be, but for me, this is a bit late in the story! Though learning and gaining that information made the story fascinating, and I was compelled to keep reading.

The novel itself is easy to read and understand, the writing and art styles are very accessible. The art style is not my favorite for graphic novels, but I can appreciate its accessibility.

Overall, it was an entertaining and easy read, much quicker than originally thought, with an interesting premise. I'm not sure I will continue with the series, but it may intrigue other readers!

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for supplying the arc!
While I found the art style a little rough, I really enjoyed the world building and the characters. Specially Lelo.
I can't wait to see more of this world and characters!

'Talli, Daughter of the Moon Vol. 1' with story and art by Sourya Sihachakr and translation by Francois Vigneault is a graphic novel about a princess on the run and the allies she makes along the way.

Talli is an adopted daughter of Lord Koska who has hidden her because she has a dangerous hidden power. An enemy named Lord Ulric finds her and she flees in the chaos of battle with a knight named Sir Alan. Along the way, they pick up other allies, discover some of Talli's secrets, and meet the relentless Captain Nina, who may be a match for Talli's new friends.

The art is a pretty great manga style that I quite liked. The story doesn't complete in this volume, but it is a tight plot and an interesting world so far.

This was a good manga that had a lot of action/adventure built into a kingdom. I found myself cheering for Talli as she runs from her enemy Lord Ulric. This fantasy romance was one of the better mangas I've read recently.

Thanks NetGalley and Oni Press for access to this arc!

4.5/5 stars rounded up!

I really enjoyed this graphic novel! The art was really fun, the facial expressions were hilarious, and the storyline was very intriguing! I appreciate the fact that menstruation is spoken about very matter of factly and not like it's a bad thing, but I also find it really over done and tiring that she gets her powers when she's on her period. I'm just sick of the trope where a person gets their powers as soon as their first period hits, it made me roll my eyes a bit lol. Other than that, this was great!
