I very much appreciated this practical, easy to read book. Drew’s writing style is personal and funny, but this book is packed with helpful information that doesn’t feel impossible. I appreciate how he highlights starting small, why we fail, and what is at play (willpower!). As a Christian (with adhd no less), I also found his biblical application to be spot on. There are challenges here I desire to undertake for myself, but many good take always for me to use in the life of my kids starting today. Highly recommend!

Worth a read if you're wanting to grow in this area. It's fairly short and a pretty easy read with some good nuggets, insight, and truth.

There are a lot of books about habit formation out there, but this one is a Christian perspective that emphasizes the role of self-control in building healthy habits. Some of it isn't exactly groundbreaking, but all of it is extremely practical wisdom from a humorous, relatable voice. I appreciated how much brain science was used to support Dyck's advice and how he gently put everything he offered through a biblical lens to emphasize God-honoring sanctification over self-focused performance.

I liked this book. The topic is very interesting and I enjoyed the way it was written. It didn't feel like a "guide", though. It was a bit too superficial for my taste.

This book will probably not blow you mind, but it will absolutely effect the way you think about self-control and give you insight into how to live a better life. You owe it to your future self to read and apply the content of this book. And they will, indeed, thank you.

Good and wise teaching and guidance on self-control and the importance of this character trait for Christians. Biblically grounded, scientifically informed, and practically focused, I found this Dyck's book to be a helpful, enjoyable read.
