You Belong to Me by Mary Higgins Clark is a solid combination of suspense and mystery. We follow alternating third-person narratives, including the killer. New York City is really a fully realized character here as well.

Dr. Susan Chandler uses her daily radio talk show to highlight the case of a woman who disappeared while on a cruise, only to put the pieces together to realize she may have been the victim of a serial killer. But once she starts digging, the killer targets others who may have any information about him.

This was my second book by the author, and I enjoyed this one more than the first (Pretend You Don't See Her). I think I enjoyed this one more because our heroine made some pretty smart decisions, and the folks around here were the ones who made mistakes that severely cost them.

As a musically-inclined person, I appreciate that MHC references song titles and lyrics throughout the books of hers that I have read. She has wonderful prose, and I appreciate that her chapters are not overly long.

The introduction by Carol Goodman was an interesting read, and I appreciated the information about the author that was included.

For a book that was first published in 1998, it really holds up. If you're looking for a suspenseful read to keep you on the edge of your seat, this is a good one to pick up.

CW: violence, murder, stalking

The latest of hers I read and I didn't want it to be him! It was good and I actually guessed who it would be which is a first!

This book was FANTASTIC. I didn’t expect the twist at all and Mary Higgins Clark writes it beautifully. It’s not too gory, but still has you hooked. If you liked the show Murder, She Wrote, you’ll love this!
