"fter a painful divorce, Blair Mallory follows a dream and opens a health club. But Nicole Goodwin, a troubled member of the club, develops a strange fixation on Blair, imitating her style and dress, even the car she drives. Then Nicole is gunned down in the club's parking lot. And Blair is the only witness to the murder... At first the police investigation concentrates on Nicole and her acquaintances, but then someone tampers with Blair's car, and sabotages her home and business. The police - including Blair's old flame Lieutenant Wyatt Bloodsworth - are baffled because these attempts, while serious, are very different in tone from Nicole's murder. Is Nicole's killer seeking to remove a troublesome witness? Or was Blair the intended victim after all?" (From Amazon)

A funny romantic suspense novel.

Loved the story. I know it was probably better to me because I got it on CD instead of reading it but I found it a bit funny and enjoyed it.

Blair Mallory loves her life - she has a loving family, a successful business and an incredible wardrobe. The only problem is Nicole Goodwin - a wannabe stalker with a bad dye job. Thus, Blair is horrified but also relieved when Nicole is murdered. Unfortunately, sexy yet irritating homicide lieutenant, Wyatt Bloodsworth, believes the killer might be after Blair, and his suspicions are confirmed when she is targeted. Who would want to kill Blair and why?

A completely delightful read and the audiobook narrated by Franette Liebow is totally "to die for"!

The mystery is entertaining and it is fun trying to figure out who has it in for Blair. Even though the resolution comes somewhat out of left field, it makes sense and the final confrontation is intense.

However, the real highlight of the book is the romance. Blair and Wyatt's chemistry is off the charts and their sex scenes are sizzling. While Blair might not be everyone's cup of tea, I loved her. She's snarky and cute and knows how to wrap her man around her little finger. No TSTL moments either!

Wyatt is also a fantastic hero. He is a man who knows what he wants and goes after it full steam ahead. Moreover, he has the patience of a saint considering all of Blair shennanigans.

All in all, a really fun book and I've already listened to and enjoyed the sequel.

I've been delving into Linda Howard's books this year and this book was a very pleasant surprise.

I was expecting that overbearing alpha and a heroine who comes off as strong, but melts for the hero and lets him have his grand old way every stinking time. And while this story has the outlines of those tropes, the heroine is not a push over.

I loved how Blair kept multiple lists of Wyatt's transgressions and stood up to him so many times. Wyatt was a fun character as well and I did not see this variation of Howard's usual tropes working so well, but they did!

This was a fun (and a little over the top) romantic comedy that I would recommend to all of my romance readers.

LH seems to be a hit or miss author for me. This was a miss.
At least the main characters are perfect for each other: she doesn't stop whining and he doesn't stop being an ass. A match truly made in heaven.

Blair emang keliatan nyebelin.
Either you hate it or laugh because of it.

Elemen sensualnya udah ga banyak sih, kayaknya emang semakin lama adegan hotnya so so aja. Tapi baca Blair yang sisi sensitifnya bukan di dadanya seperti kebanyakan wanita, tapi ada di leher, kok jadi inget sama diri sendiri yaa (hyaaaa :)) )
