Far-fetched and convoluted, yet entirely mind blowing, this duet was a riveting read. There are estranged twins, the Russian Bratva, a fiancee intent on murder for revenge on his sister, and a twisted mix of plotlines. This is the type of book you need to re-read after you’re done, to better understand all the initial incidents that I didn’t understand very well.
The feel of the book is very dark because Asher is determined on hurting Reina and makes frequent intents. He tries but never ends it because something compels him to stop. As their relation flounders between passion and hate, fear and distrust, dark thoughts fill up Reina’s mind and she fleetingly thinks about the value of her life.
Reina has been trying to relive the “old Reina” habits, but she now feels that it’s not a right fit. So she decides to do things the way she feels now, and has everyone confused because she’s different now. Events happen that make her recover some of her memories, but then things get even more confused. And the people around her are now confused too.
There’s an ever present sense of evil, of some impending doom. There are also dreams of someone called Rai, and there’s a Cloud003 person who sends her frequent dark messages, calling her “my slut”. And there’s Jason, the housekeeper’s son, who initially felt like a friend, but started giving out strange vibes. It’s a malicious environment but she perseveres to find out the truth. It’s enough to get paranoid!
The book is complicated, passionate and emotional. Because of their love/hate relation, the sexy times are extra steamy and kinky. It’s hugely riveting because with so many questions and scarce hints and a lot of suspicions, you just want to find out what the heck is going to happen. It’s like reading a sexy whodunit. Now I need to start it all again, to make sense of all the hints that I missed first time around!

This book was confusing, too much twists and really fast paced. I did not feel any chemistry between Asher and Reina at all.

Whooo doggie I was not expecting that twist. I mean yea totally get it now and I am down as they get towards that loving feeling in the spicey part of the enemy to lovers part of the story. Highly recommend. Of course I mean Rina Kent…so just go for all her books
