Your typical chaotic romance. I probably would’ve rated it higher if I wasn’t currently in the middle of a fantasy series with much more complexity and depth.
Moderate: Death
Minor: Child abuse and Death of parent

oof this was a good one. i'm sucker for grief in a love story. not sure what that says about me.
losing a star for the static token gay though.

The tagline for this book has nothing to do with this book. But what a great book.

Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.
Eve has always loved Ed, but when he went to university he meet someone else. One night Ed, Eve, Susie and Justin best friends since they were eighteen take part in their ritual Thursday night quiz. Hester Ed’s girlfriend proposes and he says yes. Eve can’t believe it as she believes he loves her following a kiss before they went to university. That night a tragedy happens as Susie is killed by a car after the driver has a stroke at the wheel. Eve, Ed and Justin’s lives change forever as they find out Susie had a one nigh stand with Ed whilst Hester was in Switzerland many years before. Can they move on or will this split the group up for good.

"It's like my whole life was about traveling back to you."
This book surprised me in a very positive way! When I started reading it, I wasn't expecting at all most of the things that happened and, at first, I wasn't really happy by them. Yet, as the book went by, I was already giggling about it and also feeling my heart clutch. I think the author did an amazing job on the topic of grief as well as with the romance part. It was all so smooth and well written, I was in awe the whole time. I feel like some things could've been explored more, especially in the romance topic, but overall I don't have many complaints.

Just Last Night
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This has been sitting on my shelf for a while and I finally picked it up. I don’t know what took me so long, I read through it so quickly!
Eve has a best friend group that she’s been close to for years, including one she is in love with. But tragedy strikes their group and all of the perspectives change.
This book is much more about grief and recovery than the romance I was expecting. I still enjoyed it and continue to like Mhairi McFarlane’s very English writing.
