Like many book-tok books, I liked it ending… this book dragged. I did not like Kai or Paedyn as much as I thought and this felt like Hunger Games but with cool powers.

I do have high hopes for the second book though, the sneak peak was kinda crazy.

Kinda tired of cliffhangers where everyone betrays each other at the end, especially after the SLOWEST burn of the century. Also annoyed the author just made up powers whenever it was convenient instead of establishing a set amount of them to begin with.

OMG THIS BOOK! Book tok has given me another 5⭐️ read. Romantasy is my favourite genre and the whole premise of Paeydn living her whole life getting by with no powers even though it’s said that all powerless have been banished. Paedyn gets away with being a sphcic by simply being an observant person and then all of a sudden she’s been voted as a player in these trials of the elite. After Paedyn unknowingly saves prince Kai the village votes for her to represent. Kai and Paedyn fall in love over the trail period (slow burn) but in the process Paedyn fakes being in love with Kitt the other prince to get her way.

This book is a new favorite and can’t wait for reckless to come out.
