This wasn't my absolute favorite installment of this series, but I did really enjoy it overall. It's funny because if I were listing my absolute favorite romance novels, I don't think I'd single out any of the books in this series, but as a whole, the series is one of my fave romance series. Even though for whatever reason I never get fully invested in the couples, I know that I'm never going to be disappointed reading a book from this series.

I loved Sarah, and I did like her dynamic with Patrick overall. It was also fun to see how this book kind of overlapped with the previous one. I mostly liked Patrick, but tbh there were just lots of little things that Patrick would think or do every once and awhile that would bother me?
SpoilerLike how he lies to her about where he lives and hides her umbrella so he can go to her apartment in order to seduce her, like... it's not like it made me hate him, but men lying to women in order to have sex with them is always going to bug me. There was also this one scene where he was thinking about how much he wanted her, and then for a second he wonders what Sarah might want, and then instantly is like, "No, don't think about that!" Like, wait, you should think about what Sarah might want, she has a say here too. And later when she tells him it's up to her if they sleep together again, and he says kind of mockingly, "Like it was last night?" And then later how she has to yell at him that whether she sleeps with him or not is not all about him, it's about her too. Like, I know these are all really minor things that probably didn't bother most people, and if it were only once, I would probably be able to ignore it, but all of them just kept adding up to where I felt like he was being deceitful and manipulative at times, and he wasn't taking her feelings into consideration, and that's definitely not the way to get me on board with a romance.

But besides that stuff, I did enjoy their interaction! They were fun together. And those instances were minor enough not to make me completely hate Patrick. It just prevented me from getting as into Sarah/Patrick as I would have hoped.

Muy lindo todo pero me indigna lo perfecto que es Patrick, me da en mi vena más cínica. Muy romántico pero no deja de ser el más flojo de la saga.

I had mixed feelings about this book but I ended up finding the romance to get to a very sweet place. I liked that towards the end it was about building up the strength of the relationship. However the book ending with them literally getting engaged at the eiffel tower on valentines day was just too cheesy for me. I also think for a book about s relationship that had as many initial bumps as this one to end in a proposal the relationship should last longer than a few weeks. I did stay up until 1am reading it. Ultimately it is a rounded down 3.5 stars.

One word, romantic. Though i don't know at the first time what Patrick seek from Sarah. I see Sarah as someone who get offended easily. Her inner conflict is complicated. I think that every words that came from Patrick would hurt her, would insult her. And she will run away, and push him, and punish him. It made me worried when they start a conversation. Really! But as the story goes, i know they are perfect to each other.

First read; Aug 2015:

3.5 stars

I forgot that I haven't finished this series yet, eep. anyway, Laura Florand wows as always with her gorgeous description of food.

Reread; June 2016:

I dunno why I didn't give this a 4 because it's pretty fantastic so I'm remedying that now. I just want to hug Patrick ok ok ok and also Sarah

I just want to hug them both and never let go.

Reread; May 2017

I'm always entertained by how huge of a crush Patrick has on Sarah.

These books are so so good. I love all of them. Sometimes frustrating because you watch the two leads dancing around each other with their own issues, but very believable characters, so you understand their motivations.

this is how you do the onesided enemies to lovers trope. suprisingly tender and heartfelt romance. i felt the romance in every sense of the word, the mmc was really charming.

I have no idea how this book isn’t more well known! It’s written so well and the characters are great too. The only fault I could find really was that I wouldn’t consider it to be enemies to lovers like the blurb suggests but it’s still a very cute and enjoyable read.

I enjoyed this re-read. I must say I was a little mmm about Patrick at the beginning in how manipulative he was, but as the book progresses, you understand why he felt he needed to be that way, and it helps that Sarah quickly starts to speak up her mind and shows him that she is also the one making decitions, or just plainly calls him out on things. I also really like that it is about two people who are finding themselves again, what they want, and working out the ways in which they can grasp those dreams and help each other do it, as well. The way both compromised and listened to each other and just talked, and did so even through their insecurities.
And I get Sarah so much in that scene about the shoes, when they don't fit you just right but you want them and you buy them, and once you've done so and have to wear them reprimand yourself a little bit but are still happy that you've got them and they're yours. Also how it is a gift to herself, to let herself want this and not always be practical.
