CTK's art style is divine as usual with the engaging, hooking premise. They'll swallow you whole. I enjoyed Midnight Rain as much as I enjoyed and loved this one!! I just love the characters' relationship development. If you're looking for handsome, hunk men in a relationship after a commonplace encounter with a bit of a rough back story, let CTK treat you with her dreamy series. And man is Jimmy so adorable when he cried, lol. I can't stop smiling seeing a broad-shouldered guy wearing an apron, looking so sorrowful and asking for forgiveness. Augh, too adorable!! The filler chapter Lucky Bill is cute too!!!
I'll go back for more!!

The art for this was absolutely gorgeous. I loved the facial expressions so much. Just beautiful.
The story was cute, but I feel like the conflict could've been better. I think his reasoning for breaking in was stupid and also why was he able to break in so easily?? Like this is an ex cop who has past trauma of a break-in, wouldn't he have more security?? Like at least an alarm or something right? Idk. I think that could've been done better. They could've at least establish Jimmy as more of a thief/bad guy instead of just oh this guy stole a wallet and apparently he's really good at stealing.
Beyond all that though, the relationship was cute and I liked Reese and Jimmy a lot. Just wish the story was a lil better.

Book Review
Title: On Doorstep by CTK
Genre: Manga, LGBT
Rating: 5 Stars
After reading Midnight Rain I couldn’t wait to get into On Doorstep which is another one volume romance manga from CTK following Jimmy, a petty thief and Reese, a retired police officer. So it opens with Jimmy stealing a woman’s purse on the train and getting caught by Reese. Reese forces him to return he purse, apologize and work for a day at the bookstore he works at to avoid turning him over to police so Jimmy has no choice but to agree. However, after this day he decides to break into Reese’s home and steal from him but he ends up just leaving without taking anything.
Jimmy realises his attraction to the older Reese and tries to see him again but fate keeps them apart. At a party, Jimmy learns that Reese retired after his partner was murdered and the killer was never caught but he does end up bumping into Reese again and asking him for a job at the bookstore to be closer to him. Eventually Jimmy makes a move on the older man and they begin their relationship. This doesn’t last though as Reese finds out Jimmy was the one that broke into his home giving him PTSD flashbacks and despite apologizing Jimmy doesn’t know what to do to make things right.
Eventually at works they manage to talk after Jimmy breaks down crying and confessing that he loves Reese, they decide to give their relationship another go since Jimmy is trying his hardest to be a good person. The small epilogue moments where Reese returns to the police force and Jimmy supports him were amazing and wholesome as well as seeing a brief side couple in Charles and Ian. I honestly adored this and I can’t wait to read more from the author in the future.
