This book is a steaming pile of crap. I'm happy there is LGBT content but literally everything else in this book is awful. Every paragraph seems to have ridiculous analogies. Oh and the lowest point is the fight between to bounty hunters that had gone on for days. It's just terrible. Awful.

The audiobook narrating was very well done by Marc Thompson who is most people's fav SW narrator. If only he had a good story to read.

I've been waiting for this book since I read my first Star Wars book. If you're into SW and want to know what happens in the gap between ROTJ and TFA, you should read the book.

Great Rebel Story

This book started off slow but once it picked up it was great. Focuses on characters forced to work together to survive. They're not part of the rebellion but have to work like rebels to get out of the situation.

I highly recommend.

The way to read this is by audiobook, I cannot stress that enough. I know the only reason the audiobook is this good is because it has Disney money behind it but holy shit, this was the best audiobook I've ever listened to. It was like watching a Star Wars movie.

The characters were enjoyable and the story kept me engaged! The interludes were both really interesting in terms of the wider star wars universe (Cobb Vanth my beloved) but it also took us out of the main story sometimes. There was awkward dialogue and description, but nothing that had me unwilling to continue reading.

I'm definitely going to continue this series

It's not the book, it's me. I'm just constantly anxious I'm being a dumbass and forgetting if this character or this planet was already mentioned in a movie or TV show. Because other than that, it wasn't terrible.

I'm going to try reading star wars books with established characters that I know (Leia and Padme) and then go back to this one that has an all new cast.

I love Chuck Wendig with all of my heart. Well, all of my liver, anyways. I respect him a ton, so when I heard he was doing a Star Wars novel, I couldn't help but be crazy excited about it.

Well, I'm not going to say I was disappointed...but I certainly wasn't enamored. It is a great add to the Star Wars universe, the characters are well done, and there is enough action. But I just didn't love it, and was honestly bored a couple of times. I think any Star Wars fan should read it, but don't expect anything overtly new or groundbreaking.

Sadly, this book was very disappointing. The plot was dry, uninteresting and predictable. The characters were one dimensional cookie cutter poor excuses for Star Wars characters. There was never a moment of suspense. The only reason I give it 2 stars is because it is still a Star Wars novel.
