I agree with other readers that at parts the story was more difficult to follow with going between current and past. But overall I loved the story!

A surprisingly good book

Liz Talley took the trope of "big city girl gets forced into small-town living" and freaking RAN with it in this book, and I mean that in the best way possible. Watching Chase London's growth over the course of the book was super intriguing, and there were several points where I wanted to shake some sense not just into her but her "life coach" Olivia Han as well! Great book!

"Adulting" is a compelling journey of self-discovery and healing. Talley's nuanced portrayal of addiction recovery and personal growth is both touching and authentic. The novel's exploration of unexpected friendships and second chances makes for an emotionally satisfying read.

This took some twists that I was not expecting, and I enjoyed the redemption arcs.

Trigger warning… this book holds some tough topics. There are so many twists and turns but in the end a beautifully written book about how even the biggest trauma, secrets, and pain can turn into a beautiful life
