Such a sweet little story, very short and easy to enjoy quickly. There was a hint of darker themes within the prison that I always enjoy in Ruby’s writing. She touches on death and rape and such in ways that are very palatable while also giving the intensity they require.
Jutari is a giant sweetheart even though he’s a murderous criminal and I’m so here for it. Chloe is also very smart and strong willed, I loved that in her.
I’m happy to go on to the rest of this series.

Okay, this was a big one for me. I decided to read all of the world of a IPB in order and this was the first non IPB book Ive read from Ruby and I was pleasantly surprised. Its nice to see the other sides of space and other people of the same species that our Sakhui men are.

Not my fave of Rubys - MUCH darker than usual and the serious events in the prison get kind of washed over by the dubious romance. I feel would’ve been better served as a full length novel vs a novella.
