Although I appreciated the way the story unfolded, it did take a while for the action to start with almost half of the novel being scene and character setting...however, once the murder occurred, Poirot quickly gets to work investigating, questioning and evaluating using only his "little grey cells".
This book was originally published in 1937, yet still makes for a interesting read. I enjoyed the twists and turns in the story when they came and did not anticipate the ending at all!
I owned a copy of this book and listened to it on CloudLibrary. I read this for prompt 27, by a neurodivergent author, for the 52 Book Club Reading Challenge 2024.

This is my second read of this book, though my first was some time ago, so fresher on my mind was the middling film adaptation. The book proves itself superior to the film of course, and holds up well on reread as well, as the motley cast of side characters introduced themselves to me with greater depth this time round. And the solution to the case is, of course, a cracker.
The audiobook is narrated by David Suchet. Though I found the voices he chose for supporting cast rather silly at times, it makes for a fun listen, and his Poirot is wonderful.
Moderate: Gun violence, Murder, and Classism
Minor: Racism and Alcohol

aside from that, this was a less enjoyable Christie because I was able to guess the plot in the first 30ish pages. however, i really enjoyed the last 20 pages where we get the interactions between Poirot and Jacqueline after the murderer is revealed.
