Sooooo, I figured it was time to finish this advent devotional now that we’re about halfway through Lent!

I adored this book. I am pregnant and a good friend let me borrow to read shortly after Christmas, so I missed the alignment with Advent, but the alignment with my own pregnant body was so deeply meaningful for me. I read it more diligently than any pregnancy journal I’ve attempted to start.
The divine feminine is beautifully imagined in the illustrations. This work is written/illustrated by a man who has never and will never be pregnant so I wouldn’t have read it without someone I trust suggesting it. I thought it was a really well-executed attempt at bringing divine feminine energy into our Advent space. And just right on time for my personal life. Truly an honest depiction of advent seasons. Recommend for anyone going through a season of change and anticipation.

My favorite Advent book yet. And I cannot recommend it enough.

Awe-inspiring and gritty art (loved!) paired with “meh” writing (didn’t love) left me a little disappointed in my advent reading selection this year.
