Thank you so much to Atria for my copy of this book. It took me a while to start reading it because of the difficult subject matter. However, I’m so glad I did. Heather Morris has once again written a wonderful book about a difficult subject matter. While some parts are difficult to hear, the story was beautifully written I loved this book

I Read this right after reading first book, The Tattooist of Auschwitz. This was so sad and so beautifully written.
I have read many books set in this time fame and it never gets easier. I feel reading about the Holocaust history is a way of paying respect to those who were lost and those that survived this awful time.

Cilka is 18 years old when she is finally released from Auschwitz. But like many other women, she is sentenced to a labor camp for 15 years for having helped the Nazies, despite the fact that she only helped them to survive. She now has to use her wits, charms and beauty to survive horror once again...
This historical fiction is a follow-up to The Tattooist of Aushwitz by the same author, which I absolutely loved. And I loved this one just as much. I don't know how Heather Morris does it, how she can write and turn something so horrible into something so beautiful...
