A fine audiobook to half paying attention to. only still reading this series to finish it. Super convoluted now, so much info dumping, I don't like how these books treat organised religion nor how the mc reacted to the death of his mother... In that it was super brushed over but compared to the death of his wife in the next book, it's a whole thing
Moderate: Gun violence, Misogyny, Torture, Violence, Islamophobia, Kidnapping, Cannibalism, Religious bigotry, Death of parent, and Injury/Injury detail

I loved this book. I've been following this series since the beginning and they're all great. I waited to read this book until I had my hands on The One Something Something (as MR calls it in the post-story interview at the back) and I've paused between them just long enough to put these thoughts down.
I love the mix of science and mythology in this series and how it's set in a world much like our own. I'm not sure if this book in particular is any better than the ones that came before it, but if you read and enjoyed any of those, you'll enjoy this one, too. I certainly did. It's a bit funny how a book full of violence and death can give you warm and fuzzy feelings, but it definitely does as it reminds me of simpler times and my young adulthood.
